Really trims the fat from the standard 'shhh. Sit down I'm knitting" crew. Great energy tonight.

Yes Mo, the crowd is doing their part!!!! Need the Juniors to show up in second half.

PHENOMENAL crowd tonight. Simpky awesome. And dare I say, the beginning of a (Duck) dynasty? Everyone in attendance knows what I'm talking about. That guy rules. Someone give him courtside seats.

You beat me to the punch on Biker Duck Dynasty Spider. He already owns Pav as the City's best fan.

Hoping for an even better crowd on Tuesday. But honestly, is there an NIT policy to boo every call? I mean good grief, it sounds like the Seigel Center some nights. We want VCU to be called for everything but when we hand check and body bump people everybody flips.

The energy is so much better, but I feel the constant booing takes away from the vibe. Maybe it gets everyone riled up, hopefully thats it.

Putting fat boy and city's best fan in the same sentence is blasphemy. The only thing he's best at is being an obnoxious slob.

The booing of calls gets our "more experienced" fans going. I love it and enjoy egging it on.

BBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Loved the way the team went up in the stands to be greeted by their fellow students!!!!!

R&B posted "Loved the way the team went up in the stands to be greeted by their fellow students!!!!!"

That was great!!! Lots of fun tonight.

No way was that 4500. North upper stands were fairly empty but the rest was largely full. I would guess around 6000. Superb atmosphere tonight -- best other than VCU game this year.

Can't wait for Miami. Missing the NCAA stung, but this has been a nice consolation prize so far:

Watching this Stanford Rhody game and it appears we are more into the NIT than the Cardinal faithful.

I was hoping for 5,000, but 4,500 sounds about right to me, from eyeballing things in there. But MM is right -- the people who have been at these two games are the diehards, and we have a lot of them. I actually thought tonight, we did see a benefit to the "neutral" environment, in that the fans realized they needed to be loud throughout. (Although, I guess it wasn't exactly "neutral" when our Noise Meter showed up a couple times, but hey).

I only heard one sit down in front please and it was during the overtime. The guy beside me turned and told the guy to "stand your fat ass up." LOL

Well, I heard someone tell a man to sit down so she could see. The difference was it was her husband sitting in front of her, lol!

maybe we shouldn't sell season tickets. You have to buy every ticket 72 hours before the game. That way only the people who will come and who care will have tickets. That seems to be working for the NIT.

Sell season tickets but you have to claim them. If not claimed 24 hours before game they go on the market.

Yeah - Mr. Duck Dynasty more than rules - his spirit and attitude totally contagious! Also kudos to the young woman in the front of the same section close to the court constantly waving her pompom and dancing who the cameraman also liked.

I agree. I'm proud of the Spider fans' performance. That's the way to enjoy a game! That's how to contribute to our team- giving them a real home court advantage. Keep it up!

Spider fans have been great! The student section is still a bit of a disappointment for me, but whats new! Can't wait for a rocking RC crowd Tuesday evening! GO SPIDERS!

I think its because our fans and alumni are so old that they think the NIT tournament STILL decides the national champion.....

I resemble that old remark.

These past two games have been really fun to watch, largely in part to the atmosphere our fans have created. It looks and sounds great on TV, and I bet the support played a big role in our victory last night. Great job guys, keep it up!!

Headed to pick up 5 tickets now. Looking forward to tomorrow night.

SF26, lots of calls both ways, don't think that's what people were booing. It was the non-calls, particularly the traveling, that was horrendous.

I tend not to b**ch about the officiating, I think it must be ridiculously hard to get calls right in the fraction of time they have to make them, but there were multiple foot-shuffling, disco-dancing moves made by ASU that 4500 people in the stands saw.

I want that booing, it doesn't say anything about us being unsportsmanlike, it means we are into the game.

And I'm clearly getting Duck Dynasty Dude a spider bandana to wrap around his melon.

sounded raucous on TV! I wish I didn't live 800 miles away, I'd be at every game

Robins Center looked fantastic from 600 miles away last night on TV. Not sure how accurate the ticket tracker on the UR website is but it looks like very tickets are remaining for tomorrow night's game. Is it possible we've sold that many tickets in one day?

Coastie, the ticket site is showing as "sold" all season tickets. But at 5 pm, the ones that have not been claimed by season ticketholders are released for sale. So check back after and you will see the actual status of tickets. I would like to think we could get 5,000 there tomorrow night, but we'll see. Either way, I expect the environment to be very similar to last night, if not better.

So from the class of "42" you must be around 94 years old which has got to be a great age and back in that day some teams played in both the NIT and the NCAA and some thought it was more prestigious to be in the NIT. This year because of our participation in the NIT that might be the way to think!

Eight, thanks for the info. That makes way more sense. I'm with you, hoping for a crowd of 5,000. The team certainly feeds off the energy and the ESPN announcers were very complimentary of the enthusiasm the fans brought to the game. Fun to watch and made me proud

Played back the game that I had recorded after I got back from RC. It was incredibly loud at the game and yet it doesn't translate as well to tv. Think it has something to do with the mikes being adjusted down so can hear the announcers more clearly and semi-mute the background.

Definitely mikes have to be that way or the announcers can be drowned out - that's the technology of the wearable headsets.

Let's carry our energy from the last 5 home games over to next year. Incredible noise tonight. Particularly after Terry's layup to close the first half.
