GW3 to the portal

Figured this deserved his own thread. Not at all surprised by this, but still pretty disappointed. No clue why Mooney just refused to play him most of the season, especially on a team that lacked talent. Curious where he'll end up.

Can’t blame him at all. We’ll never know his potential as a Spider. Injuries and then when healthy didn’t see court time. Finally Moon played him - 1 breakout game but never got deserved significant follow up mins. Few mins here and there in spite of a losing season with no where to go and players getting mins who had no more years of eligibility. Another great use of players by Moon.

So can we put up a sign at the RC saying, "George Washington (didn't) play here."?

Grace Townsend is a backup at UNC, they advanced to the second round yesterday. Siobhan Ryan was a sub on a Georgetown team that isn't going anywhere. I know they beat us on a miracle shot but that was the highpoint of their 12-19 season. She will get a Georgetown grad degree, so there's that.

Will be interesting to see where he lands. Does he end up at another A10 school or similar level? Or does he continue to move down in the ranks - simply because no one has any idea about him the past 2 years in college. Limited minutes at Michigan, nothing at UR, so now what?

Saw this coming and pretty much encouraged it because he absolutely deserved better than what Moonie did for him this season. It was a travesty.
It is a real shame that he never got minutes from Mooney. Ohio Gatorade player of the year, got time at Michigan last year, and for whatever reason, he couldn't find rotational minutes in our dumpster fire of a team last year. He must have gone after offensive rebounds in practice and not done our patented weave correctly on offense.

Agreed - I get not playing him early if you didn't think he was good enough or didn't give us best shot to win. But when Hunt went down, and then our record spiralled, what you got to lose? Play him in serious minutes for a 2-3 games, just to change it up and see what happens.

Never understood it. Whenever he did his 2-3 minutes, he never looked overmatched or scared out there either. He looked at the very least competent on the court. And hell, Roche, B. Artis weren't lighting anything up there and those guys were done anyway after this year, so why not see what you got.

He is the prime example of a guy Mooney wanted to leave and he made sure his only decision was to go back to the portal again.
