What is the deal with our guards, especially Gilyard not being able to hit the
broad side of a barn.

One of the issues is that Wilson plays WAY more than he should. He is okay for an inexperienced sophomore, but he is NOT ready to play the role that has been given to him. Wilson currently is not an effective major college level scorer, passer, or ball handler. He just isn't.

St. Joe took Wilson to the basket and scored right over the top of him numerous times. Wilson's size ensured that he couldn't provide even minimal resistance down low.

This is not to say that he will never be a solid performer. He may be one day, though I personally feel that Nelson will be far better, far sooner.

It’s an issue when you play a system based on good three point shooting and then don’t actually recruit good three point shooters.

See I had this now debunked theory that once Gilly got the steals record it would be a weight off his shoulders and he would play more free, loose, and effectively.

Instead he is acting like this season is his own personal victory parade and is worse than he was in the beginning, it's absurd.

I’m a huge Gilyard fan, but what the heck is up?!?! He’s so much better than he’s been showing. I hope everything is ok and it’s just a slump.

I tried to watch his shots carefully tonight (not the driving layups) it appears to me his issue in in his feet --he does not set but instead just throws if up and hopes

A Covid pause and another year of eligibility will fix that.

3-for-20 the past three games, including 0-for-12 from three.

I am like Mooney, your hero. I see that my fat fingers hit the wrong letters on the phone, but am too lazy to fix it. Mooney can see that the team won't rebound or play defense but he is too soft to fix it.
LOL, I discovered a 6 pack of Bold Rock in the Fridge. By the end of the 2nd half, they were gone. Was St. Joe's even ranked 200?

This is an absolutely terrible take.

All of the guys have been around long enough to know that if our 3s are falling it's going to be one of those nights. It was clear early on that was last night. Going inside worked during the first half. They need to keep doing that instead of the first player throwing up a wild three early in the shot clock and hoping it goes in.
