Gill releases statement

"Also - Students are required to print out tickets (or mobile) instead of flashing their student ID. Hard to believe."

That's pretty much SOP. All of the student ticketing at the FBS school where I work (30K students, P5 school) is done online.

Totally agree it's easy and a standard process - but you cut off the rest of my sentence.... It was a legit gripe I got from students, as I asked around. That's all I was sharing, clearly there's apathy.

The cutoff for reserving student tickets is/was generally Tuesday, before the game. It may have changed in the last two years, but I doubt it got push back closer to gameday. Athletics would close out in an effort to sell seats in the student section to the public.

So if any student decides to attend the game after the cutoff (i.e. Tuesday), they can't get a ticket. Tickets were listed generally only two weeks in advance for each game at best (not before the season, not all at once, etc).. The process could be better.

OK, didn't know there was a cutoff. Tuesday seems early.

Where I work, there is a limit on availability, but will make allowances for students if it looks like they are having trouble moving inventory. The limit is supposed to be 6k for football but they've handed out as many at 9k for some games.

W&M has an "in and out" policy too

Not any more. I was at W&M for the game this year and you could not leave and reenter.
