Gill releases statement

And what is the logic behind making it against the rules? I really do not understand.

the houses should be open and parties going, alums and active brothers and guests. it is like our school marketing, we just don't get it................at all

Interesting to know. Nevertheless, from what I can see, since the change, is that the overall PR strategy is now hitting the fan. Like many things, a coordinated PR strategy at UR would probably do the university better. I have spoken to a number of folks internally and externally about Comms at UR (including marketing, but also crisis response management, fundraising, etc.), and I am sort of amazed at how consistent the frustrations are across the university family. Sure, it's anecdotal, but man, when you own eyes see what others seem to be feeling as well, change needs to happen.
I'm very familiar with UR Comms, it's fair to say they've been without leadership for a long time but have a new VP who has been around the block, so the change to which you speak is in progress.

Not a word all season, and now 2 press statements in the final hours. Two words: mismanagement and desperate.

My understanding. The frats are generally limited to only hosting one public event at their lodge with booze for 4 hrs every weekend, which would prevent them for having a party later that evening or Friday night.

Also - Students are required to print out tickets (or mobile) instead of flashing their student ID. Hard to believe, but this makes a big difference apparently to drunk students

KG/Walsh and his merrymen have been outfoxed and outboxed by Danny's agent.I believe they know that Danny
has them in 3rd place and effectively out of contention. This is the beginning of face saving press releases
written by the same institutional author as yesterday.Saying nothing and being quite trite.

At this point,a bunch of assistants will stay at UR if Danny ends up at UD.If he ends up at Temple, all will want to go to Philly for 2X salary. Not all will be chosen and we will left with the unwanted.

KG/Walsh not knowing which way is up,is unable to gauge this assistant stay/go given the remaining uncertainty of DR destination. It freezes him from making any successor HC decisions from either internal or external choices.

Talk about being boxed out.Terrific work by Danny's agent.

of course they could choose to opt out of this drama and tell him thanks.

"Also - Students are required to print out tickets (or mobile) instead of flashing their student ID. Hard to believe."

That's pretty much SOP. All of the student ticketing at the FBS school where I work (30K students, P5 school) is done online.

Students (as of 2 years ago) no longer have to print out tickets to go the football games. I have also spoken to the administration to try and have tailgating be a bigger thing at UR

Students were at the first game and the basketball team showed up for 3 or 4 games. That was about it this year.

The fraternity deal is a joke. But its been that way for a long time. The amount of social time frats got at the lodges was always extremely low as someone already pointed out. It was like that in the 90s too. Just a pattern of universities trying to kill the fraternity scene. Which is kind of dumb b/c I bet the largest % of donors are former frat members. Not just at UR. You'd think they'd analyze that. What's the harm in opening up the lodges for tailgates? Seems like a no brainer. Require them to get 20 ticket scans for the game or you lose the privilege. Now the students may leave but at least you get them in the door.

you could allow the frats to open the same period as the pregame tailgate and then require them to close -- at that point many would end up at the game without being made to go.

pretty simple is it not but we seem to be just out of touch with reality over there except of course for those things which get you points with the college template graders

I think it all ends today with DR off to Delaware ,with that said
I really hope all of the people on these boards don't let KG off the hook
I'm still shocked that he commutes on weekends thus missing a great percentage of the schools sporting events. He sounds to be the
Major Major (all you catch 22 fans) of Richmond
For all you non catch 22 fans major major got a job he wasn't qualified for so he only scheduled meetings when he was out of the office thus leaving an empty office for people showing up wanting to meet!!
Kevin gill must go should be out cause entering 2017. Let's all do what we can to make that happen
No more Major Major at Richmond it has had and is having major negative ramifications for all of Richmond athletics

I think the notion that he still lives in DC has been dispelled by a person on this board living in his Richmond neighborhood.

He has a home in Richmond. his partner lives in DC thus the commuting issue. Bottom line he is splitting time in both which will work if your NOT a major college AD
