This had to be one of the more confusing endings I have ever seen. Except maybe that Charlotte fiasco.

Why did they let us inbound the ball at the end? Mason had more than 10 fouls, right? The guy who committed the foul did not have the ball. What am I missing?
Why do you think Gilyard didn’t call timeout in the last close game? They didn’t want to hear Mooney’s crap in the huddle so they played through.

Yes thought Burton would go to the line. But if anyone can read the refs minds not sure they would find anything.
Yes he had 10 Moses Malone rebounds on two possessions. Two inches from the rim and shoots it one inch.
I agree and can't recall a more poorly officiated game for both teams! Maybe a few isolated plays and I'm overstating but just looked real poor to me?
I haven’t seen a 3 second rule called this year in any game on tv or in person.
Totally agree it was a terrible call. But blaming refs get you no where. There were ahundreds of things that could’ve gone differently in the game that make Richmond win the game (free throws, a 3 goes in, a rebound, a defensive stop, etc). Focusing on 1 that went GMU’s way is a fool’s errand, and not what winning teams do.

Agree, I think maybe a 2 to 3 year stop and he will be moving on. Love his energy, was more composed tonight too.
Just for levity about refs, I am still miffed about the JMU player under Lefty Driesell who stuck his foot out off the bench, and tripped JD, John Davis. Ref called nothing. So yes the history of refs making bad calls goes back a long way................

Refs were bad. But every game we lose someone on here blames the refs. We don't execute down the stretch of games. We don't look well coached, we get nothing out of timeouts (open looks for our best shooters, ect) and probably most importantly we don't get stops when we need them. This isn't a referee problem guys...

those refs were a joke … for both teams. We puckered up at the end. Guys we’re gassed, made some predictably bad plays b/c we do that a lot at the end of games.
Agree, foul on the inbounds or before.
Another alternative strategy in that situation would be to place all 5-defenders in an arc outside the 3-point line. Leave the basket completely unprotected. That would force:
1) a pass under the goal which concedes a basket (can't beat you when you're up 3)
2) an inbounds pass out toward midcourt which would make a very deep shoot & catch 3-pointer with .7 seconds highly unlikely
One thing that Mooney teams are really good at, at least as it relates to me, is pulling you back in to believing just maybe and then they kick you right in the nuts. Thank God I started wearing a cup several years ago.
