UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Pasadena, California isn't a bad place to be in January.
That's exactly where senior tight end Garrett Hudson will be after he received an invitation to the Seventh Annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the historic Rose Bowl Coliseum on January 20, 2018.
"I'm beyond blessed and humbled to receive an invitation," Hudson said. "The opportunities that I've been provide is incredible and I can't thank my family, teammates and coaches enough for pushing me every single day. I look forward to working my hardest to show off my abilities."
Since arriving from UNC in 2015, Hudson has been a steady target for the Spiders, piling up 63 catches in less than three seasons. He's 18 yards away from becoming the third tight end in program history to reach 1,00 career receiving yards.
With his two TD catches this season, Hudson became the program leader for TD catches from the tight end spot with nine on his career.
Hudson and the Spiders head to Harrisonburg this weekend to take on top-ranked JMU on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game can be seen regionally on MASN2.
