From the AD's Desk

Some of the things y’all complain about.... my goodness. It’s an email address. Some simple legwork could dig that up if you really need to talk to the man.

Missing an email address is just a metaphor for "we got a long ways to go"

And the ESPN interview, and now this article about Hardt and the VCU practice facility make Hardt sound like a clueless wonderer.

This makes it sound as if Hardt had no idea about practice facilities before his good buddy Rhoades showed him.

I didn’t get that impression at all. I got the impression that Hardt knows exactly what it takes to build a strong basketball brand and one of those factors is building a practice facility.

This will have a great impact on our recruiting and am glad it is getting national attention.

OK, but damn Hardt, between the ESPN radio interview and this article, try to give the impression you know this stuff and had a plan coming in. GEEZ.

He definitely knew and had a plan of this before hand, just look at his tract record at Bucknell. The idea that practice facilities will increase our recruiting and national profile is not a novel idea to him.

Hardt strikes me as a very nice and humble guy, so he didn't want to make it about himself.

Come on, he didn't have to make it about himself. if he would have said he was aware of the lack of practice facilities coming in and knew it had to be addressed I would have been fine, but trying to make yourself look ignorant to this fact in public? Why? Makes no sense, especially considering the wave of discontent with basketball.

I just think you’re reading into things way more than you have to. He knew a practice facility is important, has addressed it on several media outlets (Kudos to him. Gill would have never done that) and is in the process of fundraising the last half of it, in addition to seeing the completion of the student athlete performance center for this year.

So would you rather he keep quiet and try to seem smart (Gill) over opening his mouth and seeming stupid?

As the saying goes, there’s no bad publicity.

What on god's green earth are they doing at Ole Miss? Sounds like a recipe for failure. Look at our stated goals of being competitive and having good practices and the string of NCAA's.
The article leaves you with the impression that Mr. Hardt had never seen a practice facility like that in the Patriot League and was suprised what it took to recruit in the P6-7 conferences these days. I really can’t believe he had no idea what the new fad in recruiting was. It seems he and Mr. Queally are headed in the right direction in that department.

I don't want nice and I don't want humble. I want big cajones!

Just FYI. They've updated staff directory on richmond spiders.com site. I'm sure the mailbox email below for AD is monitored by Comms team, but just another way to provide feedback at any time. Phone # below as well. Happy venting!

If you don't think small things matter, go watch yourselves some one Christopher Mack. Go read his defensive strategy and how he builds the attitudes and habits every day in practice with certain specific drills and conditioning. That is a coach. Read how he works with other top coaches and collaborates and learns and learns. How he shares his system with 100's and 100's of coaches. That is a coach.

Yeah, but does Chris Mack make his email accessible? #askingthetoughquestions

Agree ...willing to take on the challenges he will face at Louisville with all the detritus left from Pitino "reign"

He is willing because they are paying him a lot of money. Nothing magic here, just the power of the buck.
Louisville has been a powerhouse in college basketball (National championships and annual contender) for more than 50-years. That is a significant factor in Mack's attraction to the program. Check earlier post if you desire to know more facts.
