Forecast for VCU

True or false, we don't need to say stuff like this. It only contributes to other fanbases hating us. And it deflects from the real issue that historically we've not beaten them enough.
I think you guys have beaten us too much, of course I hate losing to anyone and a rival only exacerbates it . Similar talk took place a year ago before our first game and then you guys blew us off the floor. Tomorrow will be a battle, let's just hope for a full house of fans on both sides bringing the spirit. Tomorrow is not about Mooney, it's about neighbors battling over the playground.

I don't think we have displayed sufficient toughness to beat VCU. I do think Gilyard has a bounce-back game from Wednesday night. He displays sufficient toughness. I'll go with VCU by 8.

I think a loss to UR ruins VCU chances, but they regain those chances if VCU just make the Semifinals of the A10 tourney. I think if VCU wins out, then even if they lose first game in A10 - I think they make it.

So a loss to us I think bursts their bubble for about 2 weeks.

Made the decision a few weeks ago, I wasn't going to this game. I think VCU is going to beat us handily and I really don't want to see their fans and hear their chants etc... just rubbing salt in our wounds. That just does not seem like a good time to me. It is shame because the VCU game is the game I looked forward to most on our schedule every single year.
Understandable, Please don't sell your tickets to a VCU fan.

just curious are your seats going to be empty?

UR 52 VCU 81

The RC turns into the SC, the paper bags come out, and Mooney cashes another check

Don't believe it could be that lopsided but if it happens Dr S, that could/should IMO seal the deal on Mooney being asked to leave. Look at the scenario, not only is Spider bball underachieving this season, but your arch rival is overachieving. Mooney's team is 12-16 against a #235 ranked SOS. VCU is 22-6 against a #112 ranked SOS. What Mooney has not done with the team this year hurts so much more seeing what those guys have accomplished.

Don’t forget we can’t make 3’s, make free throws or play defense either.

My prediction is “PAIN”, as Mr. T once said.

67 -78

Trap they are solidly in. Wish they weren’t but it’s true. Loss to us does not even put them on bubble. Probably 8/9 seed as it stands now. 2 more wins in any fashion including A10 tourney & they r mortal lock. The A10 is weak but they are leading league handily and they took care of things OOC well playing a hard schedule. I guess if they lost to us & st joes they’d feel some pressure in a10. But that’s not happening they are not delicate. Much greater odds they r wearing home jersey in NCAA 1st round than truly ending up on bubble. I’d love that problem with Richmond.

My calcalations put the over under at 9:45PM tonight.
You may be right. I thought since our chance to buy tickets ended at 5pm today that meant they opened to the public at that time.
Apparently not...

Lose to spiders then win out. decent run in the A10 then someone else wins the tournament A10 gets 2 in the NCAA. my best alternative.

Their NET is 37. They're not even on the bubble.

I say VCU by at least 10. Only chance is to shoot 50 percent or better. Rebounding edge and athletes with the Rams. Probably face the press again.

No team in this year's A-10 is solidly in, VCU included. A loss tomorrow and then 3 straight wins makes them likely, but certainly still not solid. A loss in the next three games means a need to reach Sunday to feel at ease. I think 2 wins of the next 3 and a win on Friday in Brooklyn might be enough. Mike Rhoades is a great guy and inherited mess, if he get's the team back to the NCAA this year then "well done". BTW, I really enjoyed the interview with Julius Johnson and like him way more now. Seems like a good guy and just very competitive which I admire. When the ball goes up, it's game on for him. From opposition view, I always thought he was a bit dirty and certainly a guy who hated VCU. ( that's cool, rivals and all) Nah, he is just a guy doing the little things to help his team win and I admire that. Sometimes you have to step away and look from different eyes to be fair either way. There are guys that VCU has had that were so exciting and fun to cheer for, but I would tell my friend that if I was an opposing fan I would hate him more than anyone. Anyway, I digressed. Nice interview and VCU has work to do and Texax's cave lately has not helped.

Regardless of the loss to VCU today, I continue to scream for our SPIDERS!

I hope the guys compete. I would be ecstatic with a win, but my expectations are such that if we compete I will be happy for the Glory days crew. Lose by less than 10 and this will be the biggest moral victory since Georgetown.
