Lat year we were 2-0 against Davidson and 2-0 against Broad Street. This year 0-2 against Broad Street and 0-1 to date against Davidson. Saturday we have our last home game and say good by to Julius, whose hustle is admirable. Davidson is the opponent. How does that game turn out? Do Spiders go on a three point spree and hit 85% plus of free throws and pull out win? Would be a nice way to end the home season.

Yes, to his credit, he stays after it and does not shy away from contact. Glad his injury only sidelined him temporarily. Would be great if he could go on 3 point spree as he has done a few times this season.

We seem to be all over the map, but nonetheless I say we pull it out on Senior Day / Fan Appreciation Day with a victory!

No not really. We are all over the map when it comes to playing bad teams. Sometimes we beat them, sometimes they beat us. But we actually are really consistent when we play good teams. We lose. Often badly. It is what I expect will happen tomorrow.

agree with some of the previous posts...we have not won against good teams and I'd be surprised if that changes tomorrow...

the most unfortunate thing from my perspective is that looking at the Davidson team I'll see a team and accomplishments that Richmond used to be...

we used to have the talent and scheme to give me a feeling that we would/could win every time we took the court; most years we were relevant to conference Championship races and sometimes earned NCAA bids; once there, we built a historic reputation as a "Giant Killer"...we have lost all of this...it's sad!

Davidson does these things now...

win, or lose, tomorrow, we need to begin rebuilding our program and become the new Davidson, or the former Richmond, which I would prefer...

Go Spiders!

Probably. But for some reason this edition of Davidson seems prone to some head scratching losses too. Of their 4 A10 losses, 3 came against UMass, La Salle, and St Joe's - our peers this year.

Sadly what this game makes me think of is yet another graduating class that never got to experience to the big dance.

so bitter....you need to relax....hahaha...

Fan appreciation: Ha It should be a good kick in the nuts by Mooney/Hardt/or Queally followed by a shake down of your pockets to take whatever money you have on you and a we look forward to your season ticket renewal next year.
again relax.....

How much higher could i have gone and have you take the over? 14.5? More?
no, 12.5 is a good number. they hit 14 against us last time.
they normally hit around 10 and we normally give up only 7.5 so while I spoke quickly I don't think I'd really bet over 12.5

I think JJ was great hustle and effort,he was a streak shooter but no complaints. I just wish Mooney would join him in saying goodbye.

Best of luck in what ever you do JJ. I'll miss my first senior day in years.

You really shouldn't...
We are winning this game 700-180. So that we can average 90 pts/gm for the regular season.:D
It will be a sight to behold...

Mojo, good thoughts. That is what has been so disappointing about the Mooney era, save for the NCAA years - I never go into a game with any confidence. As that old saying goes: " Mooney is playing checkers, and Coach (X) is playing Chess"
You are giving Mooney too much credit. He is playing Connect Four.

Davidson will always allow an outside shooting team to go crazy against them, and we've done it a lot in the past. But I don't think we have the firepower to match theirs at this point. Our path to a win is what it typically is: Go nuts from three. Otherwise, probably a loss.

I would normally agree because I always think 3 point shooting is key, but last year in the 1st game against them, we were only 6-19 from 3 (Nick was 4-6 and everyone else 2-13), but held them to 36% shooting and won by 11.

In the 2nd game, Grant and Jacob were a combined 5-9 from 3 and everyone else was 1-10 as we were 6-19 again, but Grant had a monster 24 point game and we won by 3.

So, I guess it is possible to beat them without good 3-point shooting, but I pretty much agree with you. We will most likely have to make our threes to win today.

Well, if we lose today, that would give us a nice even 10 home losses for the year. So there’s that.

The Mooney choke is at hand early in this game. We choked two 9 point leads already.

Davidson has one athlete and one shooter. How do they ever win a game?
