This team was bad early on as evidenced by our win over them when we were really bad. McKillop really has turned it around w them and possibly a conference championship.

McKillop’s ability to draw overseas talent over his tenure is uncanny.
Says a lot about him,his staff, the school, the alumni network that likely has their periscope out all the time looking for talent.Watching today contributing kids from Iceland and Finland.Add rostered kids from Serbia,Nigeria,Sweden.

Someone might want to check coach McKillop’s travel expense account practices.

Bid stolen.

A handful of coaches who may or may not have liked Hurley, like him a little less.

Perfect timeout.D shut down Mathews ability to get ball with 10 secs.
In hindsight it worked out just fine. But considering URI looked confused/uncomfortable with the ball the last minute that was a huge risk.

Now that is a great coaching job with a poor team to start. Must be nice to be a fan of a team that wins unexpectedly like that.

Way to steal the "dancing bid", Davidson! That much sweeter they took down RI and Hurley in defensive battle. They'll probably get hurt in seeding like we did in 2011, but it all comes down to matchup, like ours against Vandy.

Bonaventure should be very nervous
Think their seeding may have been hurt after losing yesterday, but since it was to Davidson, maybe not so much now. Think they were projected in that horrible 8/9 range, so moving a little higher might actually work to their advantage.

It's been too long since Spiders fans enjoyed the amazing feeling of joy and camaraderie that Davidson fans are enjoying right now...

I hope AD Hardt and others in positions with leverage were watching...few things like winning an NCAA Tournament bid can bring the casual and committed UR alums and fan together behind the University...Hardt must know this from his Bucknell experience

similar academic institutions, the biggest difference in the Davidson and UR programs
is the coaching staff and its ability to bring together the components for success and winning Championships...

Spiders fans deserve this experience again...

Ha! McKillop's post game interview kept reminding me of the unforgettable Tarrant era..I wish!

Go Spiders!

67 years old,29 years at Davidson, lowest paid A10 coach at $400,000 per annum at the least enrolled and most highly selective academic school in the conference.Gotta love this guy and what he has accomplished.

They were taking one for the team. A10 will get 3 bids now!
What was Davidson rated by KenPom before our first game? And what were they rated a week ago?

I think one of our issues is we would have beaten Davidson by 15 the way they played today, and we would have lost by 25 to URI the way they played today. We prepare as if every team is Davidson, when a lot more of them are URI.

A second issue even when we are playing close to NIT level (which isn’t good enough) we play so consistently to defy statistics. If we play 12 games where we have a 45% chance of winning, we will score 45% of the points in all 12. Statistics would indicate we should not be 0-12 in that situation.

This Davidson A10 Championship should turn up the heat to a new level for our basketball program and athletic leadership. Many on this forum want to always blame our academic restrictions and small enrollment in our mediocrity. Davidson and Coach McKillop show you can win and still value academics and integrity. We all must demand more from our basketball program.

Bucknell is a fairly close equivalent to Davidson.

Bonnies better watch out. NCAA committee has complained about Sunday tournament finishes for years and her is a chance to make their point with gusto.
Bonnie are a last 5 team anyway so easy to just give Davidson their spot and not bump someone else out.

Yeah, the committee is probably giving Rhody an 8 seed anyway, so how much room is there for two more teams from a league whose best team is treated like that?

The annoucer mentioned this as well as how impressive Davidson's player development is. That has been one of my biggest concern about CM, I don't think we develop players well enough

Probably in great shape for years to come
His son Matt by the way who played there kept him from coming to Richmond when we hired Mooney is his associate head coach guess he will take over after pop retires
We missed big time there
