Darius Reynolds Committed

Good article in the Daily Press about the commitment. WM, JMU, Harvard offered. He considered all but we beat WM twice, beat JMU when College Gameday there, and we went to FCS semifinals. All big factors in his decision. A 3.6 student another selling point (no surprise) was our academics and School of Leadership Studies. Second commitment from that area (Daniel Jones from Bruton H.S.)

A speedy D end that can get to the QB is exactly what we need. Great job by the staff getting Reynolds to UR.

It is clear that DR and staff are able to use UR's academic reputation as a positive in recruiting, not a negative. Kids understand they can play deep into December at the top end of FCS while getting an outstanding education.

These kinds of wins on the recruiting circuit have to make other in-state FCS teams cringe. They sure make me smile.

After the game day beat down I trolled their message board and ask the question: What is a more important to recruits that day hosting game day or winning game day? All their responses were the size of their stadium wins out. Someone please tell me not to go back over there to rehash this in light of this signing?

The money can be found, as it has been before. We have many successful alumni that love the school
the school as much as the persons that paid for the upgrade to the RC. I think it's a matter
of having a campaign, like we have had for other projects, like the stadium.
