Gilyard is the 4th Spider to get 200 steals and should break the all-time record later this season. His 5 steals last game brought his average per game to 3.57, which ranks 1st among all D1 players.
If only we could help him out in some way.Gilly's 5 steels bring his YTD total to 81. With 6 regular season games, A10 Tournament and hopefully a NCAA appearance he is going to destroy the Spider season steel record of 89. He has a good chance at breaking 100 for the season which will put him on track to finish in the top 5 all time in NCAA history. If he get's a 100 this year he will be at 276. He needs to reach 365 to be top 5 and 385 to break the all time record.

unless they have bad voice to text apps...Not for nothing, but we have a couple folks on here that really struggle with homophones... makes me think they are VCU plants.

I can assure you 80sfan is not from VCU. Nor is he a plant.
Last year I made a "Man of Steel" joke in response to a similar post, which was more a play on words (Gilyard = Superman, haha, get it?), and didn't feel great about it. But I never questioned the man's loyalty to the Spiders.
78 more to get to #5?With 6 steals yesterday Gilly is up to 99 this year and 276 total. If he can get at least 5 more steals and gets the same amount the following year he will break the all-time record. He would only need 85 next year to finish in top 4.
