we seem to mostly have abandoned the Flying Dutchman, but can we try these things:

1) Put your best rebounder on the lane when we are shooting free throws. We aren’t great FT shooters and we might just get a rebound or two if Grant wasn’t standing 80 feet away.
2) When down more than a bucket under a minute, I’d like to try being less patient. We don’t need to find the perfect shot if we don’t leave enough time for us to get another possession.
3) Lets try letting guys foul and play through fouls.
4) Can someone please discuss with Grant the notion that refs don’t tend to favor whiners.

It's a sign of disrespect and we all know now that we will be remembered by the way we treat other oeople.

The only problem I have with Grant is that he loses his cool too fast and never commits a foul. When you are biggest guy on court, you tend to be noticed more by refs and you just got to learn to live with it. A personal foul call is not going to be changed.

Ftr, I like that Grant is passionate. He just needs to channel that into his play, not his reaction to a foul call which quite often was totally justified.

Don’t whine, joke with the ref about it and he’ll call it your way next time.

Believe he got t'd up against the Dukes last year. Guess those guys have figured out a way to get under his skin.

I'd like to try switching defenses. If I had a lot of spare time, I'd go back the last couple of years to look at opposing team FG% in different tranches: full game, second half, last 8 minutes, last 4 minutes. I'm guessing the chart would look like Amazon's stock price. My assumption is that by 30-35 minutes into the game, the other team has figured out the best ways to attack our match-up zone, and is comfortable in their offense at that point. We don't ever do anything tactically to get them out of their comfort zone aside from "try to play our normal defense harder."

And the soft, "kind of press to make them take 4 extra seconds to bring the ball up court" doesn't count.

Kneepad, good points. A few years back there was a lot of pub about our basketball program hiring an analytics guy. I have not heard anything lately. This is the kind of info that would allow you to make some educated decisions.

I believe that hire was a stock analyst for Mooney. ;)

Alright 97 - no more posts that make me laugh out loud when I am still trying to figure out how we lost the game the night before!

We know who these burner accounts are on here too. Surprisingly it's very easy to find out. You guys are doing a terrible job of covering it up and we'll really find out when Mooney is gone because I'm guessing none of you will be posting on here anymore. You know who you are and more importantly we know who you are.

It did seem like for just a short period last night at least we were trying a variation of the UNC "run-and-jump" half court trap defense. The ball handler for the other team gets across half court, and our guard who is on him is immediately joined by our other guard, who swarms over and tries to trap him quickly.

UNC runs it very well, but I don't think we have the athletes to keep after it too often. It was at least another new wrinkle, though.

I don’t understand why this is always threatened or accused.

First, I don’t believe a word of it.

Second, wouldn’t it be great if there was someone of prominence in the Athletic Department or on the coaching staff who reads and responds to this board?!?! I for one would appreciate reading their points of views and reasoning, especially during the current low point our program is in.

Instead of falsely claiming you will out people’s identities in an attempt to bully, maybe we should promote these people to join the discussion. Imagine how much better this message board would be with people actually connected to the program giving the rest of us some actual inside knowledge.

Just ignore it; he's already been banned for it once.

Of course they are welcome to post. Who remembers the poster juneaprille on here? Classic insider. And no it wasn't actually our former Provost June Aprille. Person disappeared once Ole Jer went to DePaulful.

This is such a weird hill to die on. Who cares?

You should believe that there are burner accounts on here because if you look up the usernames of certain posters on here names of men's basketball staff members at UR come up. Not really sure why else those names would come up on a search. If you don't believe me private message me and I will give you the names I found.

There's like 11 new players on that team. Maybe Dambrot has something to do with it?

The conspiracy theories never end on here.
