Chris Mooney vs Dick Tarrant

Dick Tarrant's goal was to consistently be in the top 100 of basketball schools. His goal was also to regularly achieve 20 win seasons. He saw UR as a developmental program, where you bring in projects and develop them to be consistent contributors in 2 years. He also lost a lot of talent because he was so disciplined in his approach. Kids chafed under his system.

have to give Les Hooker some props as well. first three years at UR, 20-7, 23-8, 19-9 when the acc was in the southern along with south carolina, a very tough league. even with that, never got to the postseason, of course a very different deal back then, only the conf champ went to the dance and the nit field was a lot of times tougher than the ncaa and all games were played in msg.

we don't have to ask anyone, the guy is a hall of famer a great coach

the guys who were good to excellent basketball coaches at UR can be counted on one hand

Looking at wiki, Mac Pitt was the head coach of football, basketball, and baseball during the 1943-44 school year. Imagine if CM had to pull that off next season!

Different times, but still, that's a baaaaaaad man.
