I know all on here probably realize, but just wanted to highlight how fortunate we are to have Bob calling our games. I've had the opportunity to listen to a handful of non-Spider college bball games in the past week or so and it just reinforces what I already knew --- he is simply one of the best at what he does.

I was listening to GW's call after our game, and the guy who does it is OK, but he did it by himself. I'm sure a lot of schools only send one guy on away trips or just have one guy period do the games. A lot of schools don't put a value on radio calls, and have students call the games for the experience on an Internet stream or some student radio station. I'm glad UR puts some effort into their broadcasts.

Bob is a professional, and I'm surprised he wasn't snagged by a RSN to do games at one point in his career. Lucky to have him here at UR.

I listened to pieces of the VCU broadcast against Dayton on Saturday and the thought that popped into my head was that we are lucky to have a pro who calls our games.

Bob Black is just fantastic. If you ever happen to listen to VCU's radio broadcast for more than 5 minutes, you wonder how much blow two human beings can snort up their nostrils before a game.
I know GB does a lot of blowing on his show. "No question about that"

Bob has always been very good. When I bring guest to the games at RC, they always love our court side announcer also. Spiiiiiiiiiders!!!!

really feel that we should have shown Greg the door when his daughter elected to go elsewhere......seriously, have known Beck since he got here and he loved my wife's cheese grits even though he was from PA, great ambassador for UR. any fan around after we lost the great Frank Soden, knows we were in bad shape and several guys just did not cut it. we were extremely fortunate to have Bob come along and to be able to keep him for this long, a super guy as well as broadcaster.

Bob posted this on Twitter a few weeks back... He was lucky enough to be at the Miracle on Ice game as a college student and broadcast the game, or at least did so into a voice recorder so that he could file it back to the Syracuse student radio station. Listen to his call here:

Pretty amazing call for someone who was still in college!

Thats incredible, first that Bob was actually there and got to witness that historic game in person and that he had the presence of mind to record his "call" as a college kid.
