Houston was 1-for-20 on 3-pointers on Saturday. I guess Kelvin didn't have them ready to play. I wonder what their expressions were when they came out of the locker room out to the court?

MY bad! You or the another of the "Mooney can do no wrong" group @Wood Hall please explain ti to me. Possibly Kelvin and Mooney are equals in not preparing their teams?I think you missed his point.
Sometimes even good teams (like Houston, or us) just have horrible shooting days. It has nothing to do with a coach "having them prepared to play" or their "facial expression when they came onto the floor," as was claimed by several on this board after our horrible day against Providence.MY bad! When you play poor defense as well, there just isn’t much room for error. Lose by 28Sometimes even good teams (like Houston, or us) just have horrible shooting days. Shooting is fickle. Sometimes you just can't throw the ball in the ocean, which happened to us, and to Houston. Coaching and/or game faces have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Sh** happens. It's the only viable explanation for what transpires in life far more often than people might assume.
Sorry. Wasn't trying to upset you. Just figured you might have misread his post and missed his point. That's all.MY bad! You or the another of the "Mooney can do no wrong" group @Wood Hall please explain ti to me. Possibly Kelvin and Mooney are equals in not preparing their teams?
Thank you and I agree. Though I think enough Spiders fans here have had to endure too many instances of Mooney coached teams non-sh** losses.Sh** happens.
Yep woody is a funny guy. Houston got this far two years in a row playing defense. Kind of like UVA, defense give you a chance every year and when you have good offense like wahoo had with Kyle Gut, etc you can have special years.Gotta love these type posts where someone else being terrible at something should make you feel better about being terrible yourself. At least they both competed.
Per kenpom, Houston was #10 in offense and #8 in defense in the country this year. Last year, their offense was ranked better than their defense. Pretty sure their offense helped them win games just as much as their defense did. Nobody is going to overcome shooting 1-20 from 3, it happens sometimes.Yep woody is a funny guy. Agree but while both UR and Houston had a TERRIFICALLY bad 3PT shooting game, Houston lost by 6 while Spiders lost by 28 and were never in it. I guess the Houston defense being >>> UR's kept their game within a chance of victory late against Nova.Per kenpom, Houston was #10 in offense and #8 in defense in the country this year.
