There’s an error in your investment analysis. “Richmond let(s) Mooney go.”Come on, you may be depressed by the way things have been going, but let’s look at this hypothetically.
Richmond let’s Mooney go, but we have million dollar facilities to entice a top line coach, but we’re going to
do that in the Patriot League.
I wouldn’t want you to invest my retirement.
While I agree that it’s more likely now than ever, I think he’s made of Teflon. There’s nothing out there that suggests our AD will remove him, particularly since he got an extension. We just don’t fire coaches under contract.Despite everyone on here saying it’s impossible with the current admin I do think they end up firing Mooney at end of season. It’s more likely now than ever
Like a Peloton…Why do we need to look at hypotheticals when we have 17 years of reality staring us in the face?
By all means, go get a top line coach and figure out what other changes we can make to get us back to the dancing on a regular basis...100% on board with that.
I just don't see evidence that the administration is willing to do it. So if that is indeed the case, then we've already thrown Queally's money away on the RC and the practice facility and we might as well cut our future monetary losses and have a better chance of dancing to boot.
Make a decision one way or the other, because the status quo is a neverending treadmill of frustration that's costing the school a heck of a lot of money.
The school has shown that they are not going to fire the "winningest coach in school history." They didn't fire him between 2006-2008 when his teams were a combined 37-54. And, they didn't fire him in 2018 & 2019 when his teams were a combined 25-40. Based upon their track record, I would be shocked to see the decision-makers fire "our friend" when the season wins are above .500, even if it is another no-NCAA, 18-14 year.Despite everyone on here saying it’s impossible with the current admin I do think they end up firing Mooney at end of season. In terms of how it will be justified, I suspect that we will see huge fanfare. Celebrate all that the individuals and the coach have done over the last 4, 5, and 6-years. Rah, Rah publicly, and use that goodwill as the collateral for another extension. The extension will get Mooney through the next 3-4 years, which frankly are likely to be well below average.
Certifiable excuses (team lost senior leaders, extremely young, inexperienced, rebuilding, etc.) will be the order of the day as the losses mount in the immediate future. After that, rinse and repeat, everything will again be just as it is today.
Evidence would cause the "most wise" among us to conclude that Mooney will choose when he leaves.
My number one team is the Spiders. Its not a program worth following or supporting. Sad to say but true. Its like following the Siena Explorers or Loyola Maryland at this point. They have about as good a chance of getting national attention and an NCAA bid as the Spiders. If the school doesnt care there is no point in us caring either.
Threatening to not renew season tickets won’t do anything because they’ll just give more tickets to more old folks homes and youth engagement groups. I guess those are the new fans Bob black talked about. I will agree though that publicly embarrassing the university will have an impact though. The billboard for example enraged them. Do more stuff like that on social media and at games and we will see something from the school. At the very least they will say they stand by mooney like they did the last times. For me and a lot of fans that would be enough for me to tell them nice knowing you and I’m never coming back until changes are made.Only way Mooney gets fired, if the school feels pressure to fire him. Silent protests, withholding small donations, threats to not renew season tickets just gives them cover. Only chance is to go big and public if we want change. Just my two cents.
Once, maybe twice.Would we make a tournament appearance in those next 33 years?
As long as we compete.Once, maybe twice.
Doesn't matter. NCAA Tournament is not the goal.Once, maybe twice.
What's taking you so long? I've been gone for 3 years.Threatening to not renew season tickets won’t do anything because they’ll just give more tickets to more old folks homes and youth engagement groups. A-10 tournamentYes of course we would. What a silly question.
You are talking about the NIT right?
I’ve been out on mooney since 2014 been out on the school since about 2018. What I’m saying by this statement is that if they publicly support mooney again I will never come back. What's taking you so long? I've been gone for 3 years.

Go easy on Hallock. He hasn’t made his worldwide tour yet to introduce himself to the thousands of alums outside of Richmond. And remember it was stated by Hardt that he needed time to meld into the program before making any decisions.Queally is about the only individual who has influence to get the school to think about change in the leadership of our "flagship" sport. He and Mooney by all evidence are close so that won't happen. If the entire or large majority of BOT wanted Mooney to go that might have some influnce. No evidence of that either. Also no evidence our new school president Kevin Hallock has any interest in asserting himself about change in our men's basketball head coaching job. Likelihood is Mooney stays until he gets tired of coaching at age 82 or so. By that calculation he has about 33 more seasons.
We have spent how millions to upgrade Robins, and now we have the Quealy Center, and you think we’re going
to drop down to a lower conference? That just Isn’t logical even for the most negative of fans.
When recently has this school done anything logical? And there's no negative fans here, only realistic anti Mooney fansWe have spent how millions to upgrade Robins, and now we have the Quealy Center, and you think we’re going
to drop down to a lower conference? That just Isn’t logical even for the most negative of fans.
who in the PL has anything remotely close to our facilities???thing is that many of the Patriot League has those facilities anyway, so it’s not like we’re not going to automatically be a big fish in a small pond
Well, the brick and mortar might be nice, but they run the place like it's a bingo game on Good Friday.who in the PL has anything remotely close to our facilities???
