Before Gkiller tries to steal this one like he did with Jabba the Hardt, I am going to say that I recall coining this phrase as well. But in all seriousness, if someone else wants to claim I will defer so that SF does not have to do a message board search again
Jabba a good one, sure I've borrowed it just like rappers take from Michael Jackson, but no ownership. What I did 23 - incorrectly as it turned out - was actually give credit to none other than FRS for the moniker, where I thought I first heard it, and clearly u won't forgive me. lol.
But I will take ownership of Big Hat No Cattle and Philly Bob. Nobody is taking those away from me!

but...see above my worst case scenario still alive.
We now get beat & Mooney comes back & vcu still squeezes into ncaa. We hurt them but not dead yet. Remember miracle bid got in 2011. They still have some valid metrics. I won’t believe it until I see them out.
Have to validate & win it all to be real meaningful.
The only potential saving grace is that if we lose tomorrow, then Dayton is one step closer to being in. And two at-large teams from the a10 ain't happening, so VCU would be toast for sure. If we win tomorrow, then we really need to win Sunday (obviously), which would officially twist the knife in two ways.
Any win over VCU is a good day, regardless of the other consequences.
yep tho that was before yesterday games. But even w a drop if u r say one of first 5 out u have a chance. Nobody had them in back in 2011 either. Not saying they’ll make will be upset if they do but objectively have a decent case still.

This morning's update dropped them to 4th out. There were still several brackets that had them on the 11 or 12 line.
I don't think they get in, but to say NOBODY has them CLOSE is incorrect.

You need to copyright so you will own for life. That way we will have it official. While you are at it, maybe copyright “coach for life” also.
Bottom line is they finished third in a bad A10 and then lost their first tournament game. That's a pretty tough sell to the committee. It's not impossible but pretty damn close, especially when teams like VA Tech are still considered bubble teams.
The thing I've learned about bracketology & predictions is that there will always be things that surprise - both teams in and out. Really hard to say from the last 8 to 12 teams who gets in & who doesn't. More importantly why. Then we hear the committee speak and give us 5 cents of reasons.
Had to pull this one back up. Our last win vs VCU was possibly the best by Mooney but 8-22 still hits you right in the face. U never can fix a problem if u r in denial. I know bc I'm in denial about plenty of crap! We r 8-22 in the Mooney era. own it and do something about it. Go Spiders.
After the rare win against them the Mooney Truthers say that we now have their number and we’re just a matchup nightmare for the rams. In reality, nothing changes.
We’ve got some problems on Friday if we dont clean up ballhandling and those turnovers where we just throw the ball away.
This is the “new thing” that is happening and it seems to be self inflicted by either being out of control or simply mis-communication. Last night Quinn was pleading with Randolph after his turnover because Randolph cut and Quinn wasn’t expecting it. The good news is one would think those mistakes are more easily correctable, but we haven’t seen it yet….
Maybe we need to put Boyden in charge of the offense too.

Not sure that's 100% correctable. Randolph read the overplay and cut backdoor. Quinn thought he'd pop out further. It's going to happen once in a while.
A lot of people on here wanted us to lose that tourney game to VCU. Just like we have already heard people on here say they hope we lose by 50 to them Friday. They say we don't win enough. We even heard that on here today....we aren't winning enough. LOL. We have won 4 out of our last 5 and the theme today is we just aren't winning enough.
How is our at-large resume looking this year? We have made 3 NCAA tournaments in 17 years. We don't win enough.
We beat most of the teams we are supposed to and lose to all the others — what more do you want?!?
1 thing I think we can universally agree on - tho I will let VT4700 speak for himself - is 8-22 vs. VCU is downright abysmal. & many of those losses helped secure VCU bids. We turned the tables finally last year, we'll see if that was just a one off anomaly.
And who have we upset this year? Additionally, who have we lost to that we should have won?
The answers to those aren’t good.
