2025-2026 Non Conference Schedule

Starting in 2013-2014, what non ACC away (not neutral) games have they played?

Covid may have given them an excuse, and the pending 20 game ACC schedule may have encouraged ending it as well.

We've signed a 2-for-1 with Southern Illinois starting at the Robins Center on 12/13. Last year's MTE paying dividends! 🫠

Another solid Quad 4 game to add to our growing collection of Quad 4 games next year. Struggling to figure out why we would sign a 3 game series with a random bad team in a random bad conference not anywhere close to Richmond.

This reminds me of last year, where we keep getting the drip, drip, drip of a really crappy OOC schedule and everyone is waiting for the good games that never come.

Just really hope that my trip to Carbondale, IL in Dec of '26 will be as eventful in Spider bball history as Waterloo, IA in late '21.

And to confirm for SpiderDogg, post #1 updated appropriately.

So Illinois is usually pretty good. 116 NET in 2024, 120 NET in 2023, 137 in 2022.
I don't have a problem with this series.
My bad, I accidently pulled up SIUE's NET last year. So I'll amend. They are are very mid-level MVC team but more like a Quad 3 game and maybe a Quad 2 game when we play at their place. Nothing to write home about and or get overly excited about but also you need a couple teams of this caliber on your schedule.

The Pride of Little Egypt! While SIU is respectable most years I don't get our strategy. We give all these away games to confs below us - ODU W&M Bucknell SIU Belmont - but we r getting nothing from confs above us. if not just take a buy game on road. or maybe offer a 2 for 1, at least we got that with SIU. But there's little to gain with good chance of losses in these games, u r much better taking a road only P5 where the P5 could be overlooking us a bit AND offers big upside. I get giving up something to a local team sometimes, but these r too many mid to low major H&H. Just buy the best possible home games we can, get bought by P5 on road, and get in a good MTE finally.

Look at 26-27 we already have 3 road games locked in - W&M ODU and SIU. Ugh. 3 neutrals from a MTE, your 6 home games which seems like the required minimum, and essentially you're done. U really can't have 3 road games of ODU WM and SIU. I don't care about playing on road but make them good/high profile.

🚨🚨🚨 We have an MTE folks. This is not a drill. Looks like we will be in Orlando for an additional ESPN MTE with Charlotte, Furman, and Illinois State. Date TBD.

2-game MTE for us.

I'll certainly take it given last year's event and the season we're coming off of. We're not a super appealing commodity at the moment. And good to see us get into an ESPN event at all.

meh, I like the 8 team event URI is in per the same article better, but it is what it is.

Not the best MTE considering our standard has been ones that have included P5 teams. However, not a bad list of teams and after our disaster of an MTE last year and train wreck of a season, I’m just glad we got into a reputable one this year and we know the teams more than 2 weeks before it starts.
