pretty hard schedule. Akron & Kent State are good mid major buy games. Not cupcakes. Those kind of games are there for us too but u have to be willing.
looks like six mid majors, or worse,...all home games and teams in the same general geographic region...
none of these mid majors, or worse, have any better name recognition, or NCAA basketball history/rep than the Richmond Spiders...if Purdue is willing to schedule games like these, I expect there are a significant number of other P6 programs following suit...
I hope the schedule makers in the UR program are working to find P6 games like these mid majors found...it would show some respect for players, fans and the history of the program...

Banking that we will be on the last to have a completed OOC schedule. I think Mooney and staff are still on their extended Spring Break.
ACC approved the move down from 20 to 18 league games. Effective this upcoming season. so more inventory. ACC finding out more games OOC is better than less.

OK, I am expecting us to play Duke, UNC, Louisville, Clemson, NC State and Notre Dame next season.
God, those were hideous. Thankfully we never wore them again. That game was a disaster, but there was a good tailgate beforehand on the train tracks for a few of us.
My goodness, that is ugly. But, teams need to try a little harder than that to be worse than ours last year.
fan2011 was referring to the rule change under discussion that will do away with MTEs allowing you extra games compared to non-MTE schedules.
Not sure if it's been approved, but it wasn't planned to take effect until 2026–27 anyway...32 games for everyone with no MTE required.

Also Big 12 earlier this year announced they were moving back to 18 league games too. Even more inventory. So SEC B12 and ACC all at 18. Only B10 and BE at 20 among p5. I don't see why the A10 where the OOC is proven to be more important would want to move to 20 when it's trending the opposite and more inventory is opening.
well either the A10 chose to have crappy OOC schedules last year, or we can't get enough good games.
let's see how they look this year. maybe we get a few of those newly available ACC/B12 games.
I like your attitude 23...sure hope someone in the UR basketball scheduling office has an bad attitude about our schedules in recent years too...
this decision by the ACC should open up at least 30 (I can't remember how many teams are in the ACC now) available non conference opponents across the conference...I have no idea who calls who when you're trying to schedule a non conference game, but I hope we're on the phone looking for games that mean something!
one way we can begin to rebuild the program is through our schedule...make it something players, fans and the program won't be embarrassed by...
speaking as a loyal fan, I hope they don't let us down again!

None of these games are coming our way, and almost none are coming to the A10 in general.
I know they have the VCU-Will Wade connection, but here is an example where not sucking, being a good program lends itself to more success. Meanwhile, we schedule D2 teams. Not gonna change for us anytime soon, but just need to vent. Watch Dayton grab an ACC game as well.

wish it were us...I'm not saying we'll get these H&H they r harder to come by but there are some...it takes connections (don't we have 20-year Dean of A10 ones?), some gravitas, and your program being in very good shape.
A strong MTE is still #1, but also convinced we can choose to take more buy games against P5 on road...that's a choice...but 1 we should make. just have to take what we can get until we're in a different position & get good name games any way possible & elevate your program and schedule.

I feel like I’m going crazy. I have zero idea what former UR head coach is now a P4 head coach. Who are you talking about?
I do think Rousell should be working the UR connection to get Lindsey Gottleib on the phone. An OOC game at USC this season would be incredible.
I’m joking about Will Wade and the turnover on Broad ST.
For us to have a former coach be somewhere else, they would need to be about 90…
