yeah HEC is nice but way too small for us. I would love to see another Governor's invitational sort of thing at the new Green City arena whenever it is built but can't imagine the P5's would be super thrilled at the idea given the state of things in college basketball these days.

Knew it would be smaller - but not that small. Guess that is why the women's tourney was held there.

Why not drop a court on Brown's Island - play a game there? Remember when the big thing was playing outdoor stadiums or on aircraft carriers (could go down to Norfolk and maybe put a court on a ship down there and play ODU). Why not try something like that to bring some excitement and coverage to Richmond?

Longtime, please forgive Trap for spitballing some outside the box ideas. As we saw with our vaunted Amoeba / match up zone defense, it takes YEARS and YEARS of failure and diminishing results to try out a brand new (man to man) idea . Got ya.

Its a gamble with weather, just like any of these outdoor games. But season begins in November. First two weeks of November average temperature in Richmond is 65-70 degrees. It could be done. Its not winter. Remember when Michigan State played on aircraft carrier - half the guys wore long sleeve shirts.

Build a temporary court on top of Westhampton Lake. Perfect setting. The crowd can watch from Westhampton Beach, the Commons, some dorm rooms and all around the lake. ESPN can set up their broadcast booth in a tethered hot air balloon the rises above the lake. Get it done, Hardt.

Again - I am not saying this will ever happen at Richmond or in the Richmond area. But this is a message board - it is where crazy ideas go to live and die in bunch of meaningless posts.
