I had forgotten what a box out in a Spider jersey looked like. You need to watch the entire game to see how to:
Stop offensive penetration into the Lane
BOX OUT and REBOUND at both ends
Attack an intensive man-to-man defense
Make in-game adjustments on offense and defense.
Play with intensity.
All of this with a 6'8, two 6'5's, a 6'2 and a 5'11 point guard starting
Also, notice Tarrant's first three off the bench included two freshman 6-2 and under and they are playing in the "Big Dance".
Bottom line - Coaching makes a difference
Actually every time the video montage is played as part of player introductions at the Robins Center, I get “moved” the wrong way. Too much dwelling on the past like it is going to magically transfer to the present....Anybody else spend some time watching that video and start to actually feel angry about the mockery that we have allowed our program to become?

Thing that struck me most was how hard we fought for rebounds and didn't back down from a bigger opponent.
This.We used to be known as a smart, hard-nosed, well-coached team with players who could execute under extreme pressure. In other words a winning program who could beat anyone else on any given night,
Can we say any one of these things today? Rhetorical question.
#NoMoreMooneyTruthing
This was the biggest difference I always came back to with Mooney vs DT. I have the opposite feeling with Mooney, even when we had some decent teams. With DT, he was going to scheme and motivate to an effort that was greater than the talent and parts. With Mooney, I feel we are lucky if we play up to our talent. With DT, the guys were going to be tough and prepared, just about every time out. When DT the Great One was our Coach I don't recall going into a game that I thought we didn't have a chance to win.
