Never Forget: those killed or hurt by Illegal Immigrants

Fair question. I agree harm to any citizen regardless of perpetrator's status is unacceptable.

Point is illegal aliens have no entitlement to be in the country in contrast to citizens, green card holders, those with visas of any sort and legal immigrants.
The problem is these illegals believe they are entitled to do anything they want.

Secret Scrimmage vs. ODU: 94-79 W

I think people are forgetting we have a transfer from UCONN and Michigan on our team. Imagine if either of these players, out of HS, were considering UR and UCONN and Michigan and they selected UR instead - we would be, and so would all the pre-season experts, ecstatic with that choice. So I expect some big things from them right away because even if they were not playing many minutes at their previous school - the practices were probably better than our games.

For sure out of hs because we will never beat out Michigan or UConn. And ok UConn gets their flowers bc back to back champs & lots of nba draft picks. But Michigan was 8-24 last year and mediocre the year b4. Side note once Beilein players r gone it’s happened to every college he’s left. Do well with what he leaves u & declines from there. Would need to have a low opinion of high mid major ball to think Michigan practices were better than our games imo. We were certainly a better team last season. So I agree with 97 here. A deep bench player at power schools doesn’t automatically translate. Some have done well. Look at Greg Stevenson at Penn state. But I think he got time there. Others don’t. & that is bearing out as neither looks like a starter. That could change & they’ll contribute I’m sure. I hope they kill it but where they came from means little.

I don't disagree at all but why single out illegal immigrants vs harm done to any citizen by anyone, regardless of immigration status?
Fair question. I agree harm to any citizen regardless of perpetrator's status is unacceptable.

Point is illegal aliens have no entitlement to be in the country in contrast to citizens, green card holders, those with visas of any sort and legal immigrants. Let's deal with the internal reprobates rather than compounding the problem by willfully allowing a horde of largely unvetted folks to cross the border illegally. A blight on this Administration.

2024 Presidential Election

Gally questions whether you are a UR graduate because you don't agree with his political views and then calls you, me and the other posters who don't agree with him idiots.
Could have been worse. At least didn't call you Hitler, fascist, homophobic, misogynist, racist, xenophobic etc., etc., etc. Both sides play the same destructive, divisive game.

We all want what is best for our country. As a Nation, we surely can do better.

Best shooting lineup

FWIW, Hunt probably isn't in our best possible shooting lineup. He's a career 32.5% shooter from deep and has never really shot the three at a high volume. This lineup probably isn't going to see much time, but it's likely our best possible shooting lineup that is somewhat realistic:

B. Artis, GW3, Roche, AP, Walz

Don't forget Dusan is a career 37.7% shooter from deep, but one of Walz or Beagle will probably always be on the court unless we're in deep foul trouble. Like SMan said, we've got shooters everywhere.
I am going to assume the 2 scrimmages combined is the 3 point % for each…
So
AP 90%
Tanner 54.5%
Hunt 50%
Dusan 50%
GW 37.5%
Roche 33.3%
Tyne 30%
Graham took 3 and missed
Walz & Beagle took 1 each and missed

So I expect this to be the season average ;)

2024 Presidential Election

Back to the issue at hand... the election. This is why I think Trump is losing and the polls are incorrect.

"The way Trump and his allies see it, the closer the polls in the popular vote, the better his chances to win enough states to capture the Electoral College and the presidency - and he outperformed the polls in both of his previous races.

Democrats say there is reason to doubt that will happen this time around. They said pollsters are compensating for what they call the "hidden Trump voters" of the previous two elections, and, if anything, they are oversampling Republicans and inflating Trump's numbers.

Republican candidates underperformed the polls in the 2022 congressional elections, Democrats said. And Trump consistently underperformed polls in a string of Republican primaries earlier this year."

"It's much more likely that - if there's a polling miss - it's going to favor us," said Simon Rosenberg, a Democratic strategist and polling analyst.

Secret Scrimmage vs. ODU: 94-79 W

Agreed. The big schools have recruiting misses as well. I am really liking what I see from AP and think GW can be a player for us. But just because they were recruited by UConn and Michigan doesn't necessarily translate them into being big time players for us. And as was pointed out Graham got more minutes than GW. GW just got here though so he could be taking more time to acclimate to our style.
As Spider-Man said, this is a good problem to have. How many of you have seen the team play in person? I haven’t, from a distance I’m hoping that we can develop chemistry like last year.

maybe. Zeb Jackson transferred from Michigan a couple of years ago and averaged 5 ppg his junior year at VCU.
his jump came a year later averaging 11.

we just don't know. AP certainly showed out offensively last scrimmage. if that's the guy he is, then he should probably be starting at forward with Tanner (who seems to have one spot locked up). but maybe Dusan is too good to beat out.

good problem to have.

Best shooting lineup

interesting. looking at Hunt's stats he shot very well from 3 last year (38.6%) on his lowest volume. so it would seem when he's 3rd or 4th option in scoring, he takes good open shots and hits them.

agree with Brooklyn too. our current roster should suit Roche well. he should see clean looks. but then again ... do we really need him on the floor if so many others can shoot well too? guess it depends on if he's shooting 40% or not. he'll need to start the season hot to keep a role, I think.
I don't know about current roster suiting Roche well. It seems he has 2 players in Tanner and AP who also play the same position as him, who are also really good shooters, but (and I have not seen this with my own eyes yet to confirm) but probably bring other things to the game than Roche lacks.

Roche has been pretty much a 1 trick pony on offense (3 ball or nothing) and on defense he is certainly a scrapper but often tough for him to guard other big, faster, stronger A-10 players who play the same position.

Two things: (1) you spelled flaccid wrong, and (2) in the same post you accuse us liberals of ad hominem attacks and then call us idiots. Projecting much? All I did was describe what you do.

No one is going to engage with you point by point because you've proven that you're not interested in facts or a reasonable discussion. Here's an example: your post about disaster aid being diverted to illegal immigrants. I post info showing your argument is a sham and your response is crickets. If I had even an inkling you'd be open to a serious discussion perhaps I'd engage with you more. But you aren't so I won't.
Gally questions whether you are a UR graduate because you don't agree with his political views and then calls you, me and the other posters who don't agree with him idiots. Pretty low for someone who supposedly does not like ad hominem attacks. And I agree with you, I"m not going to engage in a back and forth over every grievance he has with the Biden administration. I'm sure I'm not going to change his mind and he sure as hell is not going to change mine.

Secret Scrimmage vs. ODU: 94-79 W

The interesting thing about Dusan to me so far is that he only took 3s last scrimmage. Though he had a decent per game # of attempts from 3 in the Ivy, I had thought of him as having more of an off the dribble game with the 3s complementing that aspect, rather than the reverse.
took 6 3's and 7 2's per game last year. would have been #2 on our team in FTs taken, so he must drive a bit.

I still find it interesting that our “walk on” averaged 49 seconds more than our Michigan transfer.

However, small sample size that didn’t count…

Autocorrect, why is size not a word?
