Rather incriminating.Anybody home?

Two fundamental mistakes:

The word ‘Undoubtedly‘ should have been used rather than the word ‘undoubtably’

Athlete is erroneously misspelled as Ahtlete.

This has been a consistent problem with UR and I haven’t seen it happen with anyone else, at least not nearly as often.

Legit question…do we actually pay a staff to do this stuff? If not, we should. If we do…time to find someone that isn’t a family friend.

Most people who run, and who don't get paid to wear them, will tell you Nike shoes suck out loud. As a former 2,000-mile-a-year runner, my feeling was New Balance and Saucony were far superior. Adidas Oregons for racing and speed workouts.

Not sure about cleats or basketball shoes. The last cleats I ever bought we some Bobby Charleton soccer cleats in the late 1960s.

adidas provides more comfortable fit for Spiders, so they're separating from Nike

Hardt with Bucknell did the same deal.Nothing creative here.It looks like the AD is doing something to stay busy....

Greg Beckwith, a former standout UR basketball player in the 1980s, is a member of the school’s hall of fame and offers analysis on Spiders' basketball radio broadcasts. For many years, he has worked as part of the national sales team for Adidas. Beckwith was not involved in Richmond’s change from Nike to adidas, according to Hardt.

“The very first time I met [Beckwith], my first week on the job as a Spider, he introduced himself and handed me his business card,” said Hardt, who started at UR in January of 2018. “I said, ‘Well, I’m not sure we’ll be needing your services anytime soon.’ He gave me a wink of the eye and said, ‘You never know. Now you’ve got my card.’
The second paragraph seems superfluous if the first paragraph is true.

I thought the RTD article was either really poorly written or written as an attack article on Hardt. Or maybe it was both. I felt like the quotes were kind of incoherent.

The constant typos and grammatical errors is a huge pet peeve of mine, regardless of whose error it is (sadly, I find myself making the same kinds of errors more frequently as I get older).

That said, for an institution of our academic caliber, and for one that supposedly holds itself to the highest standards, it is downright embarrassing.

Agreed. If it was an understaffed function in Richmond Athletics, it might be understandable. The group employs 7 people.

Assistant Athletic Director for Communications (Football, MLAX)Matt McCollester
Director of Broadcast & News ContentBob Black
Associate Director of Athletic Public Relations (MBB, M/W GOLF)Jason Vida
Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations (WBB, SOCCER, M/W TENNIS)Justin Glover
Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations (BASEBALL, SECONDARY FB, SWIMMING/DIVING, SECONDARY CC)Dan Wacker
Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations (WLAX, FH, TRACK, SECONDARY MBB)Bridgette Robles
Athletic Public Relations Video Specialist/SpiderTVBlake Ellett

Impressive. 7 people and none of them seems to be able to hit F7 on their keyboard before sending out anything.

I’d understand if it happened once or twice but it happens all the time.

Bob has been dead to me since the “we’ll find new fans” comment. I used to think he was the best of the best, goes to show how much of a bubble I was in.

Jeff Hanson has been with UR since Sept ‘20

Nobody in that group has checked his Twitter Page to update it.

Its all about ECU.Nothing about UR.And Jeff recruits for UR.

The laziness in the group is unmatched. No leadership.

That's pretty sad. When you see little things like this, you have to wonder about that sheer amount of inefficiency and wasted resources over there. It makes it hard to get particularly excited about "UR Here" Week.

Little things add up to big things.

Simon Gray did more with half the staff and far less technology. Now hes an athletic director. If he succeeds at Niagra, perhaps we can get someone in administration who actually gives a $h!t about the direction of our athletic programs one day.

They also have the 2 basketball coaches who recently left in the directory. Attention to detail isn’t our Athletic Department’s thing.

Nah, they came back. We're rolling with five assistants next year.

You do realize that these tweets are posted by the individual, not the school, right, since it would be an NCAA violation for the school to post recruiting information.

Yes,I realize. The school nevertheless provides the backdrop for the pictures.
Our looks like it was assembled by a 3rd grader.Unprofessional backdrop.Rinky dink.

So we have fake grass, exposed floor on either side of the faux grass, hung ceiling highlighted in pic and a sponsor’s banner which is hung amateurishly. That’s our backdrop.Did the recruit get paid for standing in front of the banner of a sponsor?Stupidity reigns.

That’s on the recruiting coordinator for football. Nothing to do with PR when it comes to recruiting visits. At the big schools there is a designer and a photographer just for fb that does set everything up and make graphics just for them. Not so much at UR.
