X finished for year

Man, that sucks. Credit to Xavier for having the determination to come back from 2 of these already. He might have a great story to tell as a motivational speaker when he comes back from a 3rd. Life isn't fair sometimes but he's still got a long life ahead of himself, no matter what happens with football ... good luck, X.

really sad, he knows what is ahead with rehab and know that is really tough, hang in there. why i am pushing my grandson who loves football to play baseball, not that you are injury-free in any sport.

Ugh. Just awful news. Really feel bad for X. It just hasn’t happened for him. Feel like we’re cursed with Henrico High.

WebSpinner....suggestion!!
Golf is the greatest game in the world! No one trying to tackle you.........or throwing a fastball at your head...or trying to knock you out......just play on the most beautiful venues in the world.....no one to blame but yourself for a bad shot......rules are relatively simple and can be played around the world......young and old both can play and compete......and best of all......the game is mostly played by decent, good people with courtesy and honesty. My grandson plays golf for the Richmond Spiders.

Terrible news for this young man, hope his recovery and rehab goes well.
He sure has already shown the determination to do the work it takes when recovering, just hate for him his career was interrupted again.

LKN, love golf myself but he is really into team sports and there is a lot to be said about the comraderie, the pulling for the same goal, the bond that is fostered in a team sport although realize there are golf teams. he just loves football, is pretty good at it but as i keep telling him, he is not going to be big and the chances of him playing at the next levels is pretty slim. he has speed and a football IQ so he stays at it, has goals which i don't want to take shots at only giving him some reality checks. his dad had fcs offers here in tx but wanted to go to A&M and do the corps so maybe he possibly could end up good enough to do fcs but still a long shot and he is too young to really figure out how good he might be. his father is a good athlete and he is just like him so who knows, a thought enters my mind once in a while of him suiting up as a SPID but not sure i want to put up with all the grief he might take on here.....;)

I know the team physician at Wake Forest told me that ACL repair was a crap shoot and some just never seem to stay together well. Sounds like Xavier may simply have knees not made for the grind of a running back. Know this hurts but it also may give him a chance to reflect on a new life pathway. I will miss him on the field.
