Isaiah plays great defense and is a very solid ball handler so I think that’s why he plays as much as he does.

I think Dji brings similar skills but for whatever reason doesn’t get much run.

As stated previously, Wilson is not yet a major college level shooter, passer, or ball handler. He currently plays WAY too much for what he brings to the table.

He is arguably one of the better on-ball defenders for the Spiders, but that isn't nearly enough to say that he plays great defense. His size is a significant defensive liability. Because of this, when his man takes him low, he can do virtually nothing to impede the scorer. We saw this a lot vs. St. Joe, and some today.

Agreed. And some on this board argue he is a great defender since most of the others around him are below average.

Agree completely here. Love Wilson's defense and grit, but should have that role, and we should have a legit 2 guard, which we do not. We really need to give Crab and Dji more opportunity. I am a defense first kind of guy, but lets see what Dji can do.

The last two games have punched me more (thankfully in the big picture) than COVID ... suffering through the Dooley years when in school made my Spider bball pain tolerance high .. but very discouraging of course ..

We need to have two very good guards on the floor at the same time, both with scoring ability. Right now with Gilly slumping it is a big black hole. Terrible roster management again, no post defenders and shooting guard position can't shoot.
