A good pickup for the Spiders, but I agree with others that the team has many gaps to fill. I am curious on what sold Johnson on coming to play at UR. I would be surprised if this guy doesn’t get significant play time especially at the beginning of the season. At some point though, the freshmen are going to have to get playing time if Mooney is really going to develop a young team.

I can't seem him coming unless he is expecting to get a ton of minutes, all he can handle. More optimistic about him because he has been very durable and out up some big games vs really good teams. Can someone pull his defensive metrics from one of those sites? Hoping it is a bit better than Philly's belief.

Kenny Atkinson was a hard core gym ratt that worked.

Yep, Atkinson, Hunt, Gonzo all were guys like that. And all those guys were also average athletically, but the honing of the craft allowed them to be big time winners.

Good pick up. I suspect that he will start, and have a good year. If Spiders have 5 of this caliber, it will be a winning season.

I think AJ Lopez is a good pick up too, and is a legit starter. Hoping between Tanner and Bryson they can be OK at the wing - which allows Lopez to be a big guard. If he has to play wing then I think size , rebounding, length/size on Defense will likely be an issue.
