Why Grant might return

we haven't had many players transfer out that we wanted to keep.
but I think 80sfans' point stands. guys transferring out are certainly different than guys transferring in. Cline is as much a Spider as any 4 year Spider. he bleeds red & blue. he wanted to be here. a guy choosing to transfer out didn't.

Actually, his point was about loyalty and questioning guys loyalty if they transfer. TJ transferred but no one questions his loyalty. It’s just a weird argument.

Actually, he said transfers are "entitled, [self-centered] losers."
Coppin the comments were edit out before you reposted. It was poor wording which I apologize for. What is very sad about this forum is that it is ok by many on this forum to criticize the basketball program, players, school administration and anyone who is positive of the program. Some posters are even happy when negative occurrences happen with the team and happy to see players transfer. However, this board is highly defensive about criticizing players that transfer.

No one on this basketball board should be using racial slurs or calling people or groups racist. It is deeply offensive.
Agreed, but it was the faculty Senate which has been widely reported that called PQ out for his comments and decisions, which they deemed to be racially insensitive, not anyone on this board.

Lacrosse is unfortunately a pretty lily-white sport everywhere at the moment, which is a little ironic considering that Jim Brown is one of the best lacrosse players ever. But it has largely taken root in white communities. Hampton U started a lax team a few years ago that is bucking that trend and was pretty cool to see. Hope that the sport can continue to branch out more.

lax is taking a long time to spread, but I believe it's the fastest growing high school sport. it only reached my town a couple years ago after some dads who played in college got the program off the ground. in every town you've got funding and field time constraints. less densely populated towns with money obviously have less of these constraints.

In addition to Paul, someone on this board called me a racist and implied the LAX team was impacted by racism. Calling some a racist or using a racial slur is disgusting and highly offensive. Let's talk about basketball on this board.
Do you think being called a racist is just as bad as being called a racial slur?

last warning move this discussion to off topic -- 23 I understand your anger and frustration, as do many others, read the paper is all you need to do, but this discussion needs to move to the off topic and the rhetoric needs to be toned down

Why is that sad? Isn't criticism a legitimate use of the forum? You and the former 4700 loved to throw around that straw man that any criticism is a "vicious personal attack." Well, it ain't. Discussing a brain fart that cost us at the end of a game is not a personal attack. Pointing out that certain teams have figured out how to beat our soft defense inside is not a personal attack. Talking about how one of our AD employees made an idiot of himself (and embarrassed our school) by starting a flame war with the St. Louis baseball team after we botched our COVID protocols (again) is not a personal attack.

Some posters are even happy when negative occurrences happen with the team and happy to see players transfer.
Name one. I'll wait.

However, this board is highly defensive about criticizing players that transfer.
"Traitor"
"Entitled Loser"
"Only thinks about himself"

Criticism? Or "personal attacks?"
I'd argue that those are way more personal than any discussion of our weak rebounding. It's ironic that those who lament the "personal attacks" on this forum are the same who make it personal.

I doubt the players, player's families, coaching staff, administration and average fan share your views. I plan to continue to support our team and I will refrain from any personal tacks on individual fellow poster. I hope you do the same.

It is a bad look to call a fine young man who honored his commitments and has the same degree on his wall as you and me a "traitor." I wish you could see that.

If the "average fan" truly shares your view on this, I wouldn't blame him if he took it off his wall.

FWIW, I don't think Grant is going to transfer.
