Your points are well-taken.
So, who do you think should be our next President? Joe Biden? Kamala Harris? Bernie Sanders? Elizabeth Warren? Or would you prefer a non-party candidate? From your rhetoric, you almost sound like a Trump guy- both parties are corrupt. However, you have distain for freedoms of capitalism and distaste for American Energy independence. You sound more like a Green Party person.
Government ownership of the mode of production is not the answer.
For the record, the government that governs least, governs best.
Making a lot of assumptions about me that are completely incorrect and I suggest I wouldn't make those assumptions unless you want me do the same about you. This is what leads to breakdown in political discourse and leads to name calling. Still too many buzzwords in your argument and not enough nuance.
Trump just spewed populist rhetoric to many hurting working class Americans that got screwed royally by both parties and struck a nerve with them. One of the reasons why I didn't like the media calling every Trump supporter racist is I knew a ton of Obama voters (Who was also a populist) that crossed over to him. He was not a republican and he never had any intention of fulfilling his rhetoric. Hell he didn't even expect to win it was just a money grab. Go look at the look of his face the night he won the election. He had an absolute look of dred that he won. The sad thing is he was uniquely elected to where he could of done some great bipartisan things to go after corruption but he just sat there and kept allowing it to happen on both sides once he got in office and began playing the exact same games they all do.
Think of the word capitalism (to capitalize.) What does that mean? If you capitalize you're taking advantage of someone or something for your own benefit and at the expense of someone or something. If that's what we want fine, I'm just tired of people thinking that this bastardized version of it isnt the problem, just the republican/democratic version of it. And if we just get rid of that half of the country everything will be fine. Its incredibly ignorant to think like that.
For a while it was at least regulated to a degree between both parties. These two parties are private corporations looking to raise as much money as possible. Its nothing more than a jobs program and financial windfall for media. There is a lot of money to be made in dividing americans. Ask yourself why are these major corps donating to both parties? Its because they both are bought out.
I always like to say Nixon was our last liberal president. Anyone after him as just been some form/variation of Ronald Regan (Excluding Ford). I know old conservative heads love him, but if you look into his history he was the one to set the country on the current course we are at and dems and republicans keep making it worse.
The problem with the two party system is its ripe for authoritarianism and gridlock. Most euro countries have between 3-8 parties so if one jumps the shark they die off. Here in America they can just hijack either party.
The two most non partisan presidental candidates to run were Andrew Yang and Bernie Sanders. I could stomach those two I suppose as they aren't bought off and spare me the Bernie is a socialist non sense. Hes literally a Eisenhower republican if you study your history. Eisenhowers marginal tax rate was for the highest income earners at 90% and Bernie isnt calling for anything close to that. I woulda taken Romney in 14 if it meant not having to have Trump as he divided this country in ways unimaginable.
I'm no longer affiliated with any party. Disgusted with all of them and the partisanship. I don't really have a party that comes close to my ideals and morals to be honest. Will find it hard to cast a vote for anyone taking corporate money as the second you start taking it you're compromised. It takes two to tango my friend and they'd rather us fight each other and divide us than find actual solutions to the problem they create. We have the illusion of choice. None of these guys running for office are genuine in their beliefs, just lining their pockets. I know my thoughts are in the minority of those that vote and I'm ok with that, just cant help but scratch my head at Stockholm syndrome we have for our economy when so many people are suffering and its obvious to anyone if they take some time to not be angry and look at it from 10k feet.
Anyone supporting democratic or republican candidates thinking they care about them is like thinking their stripper likes them. Many good americans have been had by this two party system. They're rightfully angry, but taking it out on each other instead of the political ruling class that pull at all our emotional strings.
