Amazing that we can have the all time NCAA steals leader, a 5 year all A-10 player, our best pro prospect in the past ten years, the deepest bench we’ve had talent wise, and we can’t beat f@cking Drake or Utah State! How do you retire jerseys of players that do not make the tournament in any of their five years. So d*mn frustrated and angry.

**** those piece of shit refs. I hope they live long, horrible lives with lots of sadness but they just never croak. Let them live to 115 and learn to hate life itself the way they’ve taught me to hate them. I hope next time they take the bus they get ****ed up the ass by a steel dildo that someone left behind.
Yikes. Might I suggest you get more fiber in your diet. You’re taking this one hard bruv.

lol I cant tell if @plydogg is behaving more like Steve Buscemi's character in Armageddon when he gets space maddness or John Goodmans character in The Big Lebowski when he destroys that guys car. Gotta love what following this team makes one say as a fan sometimes.

Just bring in a new coach and a new group at this point. Can't make crucial free throws and can't rebound. Both are essential to victory. Don't care about compete. Give us one more chance. Sorry the chances are gone. Hofstra and Maryland aren't cupcakes.

Mooney used the word "great" a lot in various sentences in his after game press conference. One context was about defense & potential. Also talked about how good a team Drake was.

BS - he'll always compliment opposing team as good when we lose. In both losses this year, we couldn't close the deal, & let wins become losses against teams we certainly had equal or better talent as well as us having leads down the stretch.

The common denominator forever is Mooney. There's always going to be a reason as long as he's coach, and this year is starting to look pretty Mooneyish normal. I guess the preseason expectations need to be tempered 4 games in.

I thought this year was going to be different. Something special. But here we are doing the same damn thing. Feel like I’m listening to David Byrne sing “Same as it ever was” every season. What are we doing and what’s the point

1) Nothing changes if nothing changes

2) Patterns repeat

Well let’s go watch Huesman try to out do Mooney with another choke loss of his own.

Read what this man is saying. We will never have more individual talent and experience on one team. EVER. Mooney can not win with them. What else could we possibly need to know about the abilities of this coaching staff?

Still not sure why Grant wasn’t in the game to rebound down only 2.
I think he had grace in because Matt is a better three point shooter?

It’s a fascinating strategy of course to not have your best rebounders in first to make sure you secure the ball. It’s a 3D chess decision.

I never like to blame the refs. We should have won this one in spite of that. Cayo missing lay ups, Golden getting a technical, and Mooney trying to teach him a lesson by sitting him were major causes of our defeat.
So when Golden sat did Mooney bring in Kouressi? Lol!

This year wasn’t supposed to be different. It was supposed to be a return to 2 years ago when the team played like they were hungry and had something to prove. We did see something new with Tyler setting a career high and basically being the only reason the Spiders were in the game in the first half. Then we got to see that career achievement go to waste with the unfortunate inability of the Spiders to close. It may have been different if Golden didn’t spoil his great play with his extra chirping. Grant owned all the bigs and he just should have kept killing them on offense, but he blew it. Gilly was mostly invisible and Cayo has been MIA all four games. The free throw shooting is terrible with the exception of Burton.

All that being said, a loss is a loss but the Spiders did play better today than against Utah State. Unfortunately, getting incrementally better may not be enough unless it all comes together during the A10 tournament and the Spiders get the auto bid. So yes it is going to be the same type of season we all have been seeing and as fans we will all continue to hope for the best. The problem is that old mantra is rather tired.

Best post game analysis I have seen - agree with all of your points

My anger is gone. Now I’ve moved onto sadness. Nothing makes me sad day drink like a 10 am Richmond embarrassment.

And nothing makes me sadder than knowing it’s never going to change.
