Our long term and I would venture best football rivalry. Glad to see continuation ...........................Other than former Tribe president Timothy Sullivan's ill conceived and extensively publicized dig at Richmond for joining the A-10 we have enjoyed a very amiable relationship with William and Mary..................

Better to have it than not to have it at all, but absoltuely should be the last regular season game. Lets hope it doesnt become too one sided like it has with our basketball bretheren last time we left a conference. I suspect it will in time unfortunately.

I expect when W&M moves its football to the Patriot League, which I still believe will happen as NIL continues to grow, schedules can be adjusted.

I was at Furman several times this past week while at a family reunion nearby. Wore some Spider gear one day and had some nice conversations with staff while walking around campus. They remember our SoCon days and our many games against them. They did not know we are back on their schedule, that would be a fun trip to make.

Their football stadium is nice, nothing spectacular, but all they need. They have a super soccer complex. They are also keeping the baseball stadium (which is beautiful) in pristine condition, even though they dropped their program right about the time of Covid. One of the maintenance crew told me it's easier to keep it ship-shape then to let it deteriorate, and that most there expect the program will be reinstated in the not-to-distant future.

Furman is a beautiful campus but is very spread out. I think our is nicer, in a large part because it's more compact. The Swamp Rabbit rails-to-trails path goes right on the edge of campus and is a wonderful asset.

We also went to Clemson for a day; my youngest niece went there. Clemson seemed like a great place to party your four years of college away at. They had installed a temporary baseball diamond in the football stadium for an upcoming Savannah Bananas game.

I think W&M and Villanova will eventually join Patriot League for football. W&M didn’t opt into house settlement this year. Can’t see them wanting to give that much house settlement money to their student athletes. Especially in CAA football if the larger public schools are going to invest more and more.

I think it’s got to be inevitable at some point for CAA. A lot of different make up of schools in that conference. I can see a Stony Brook leading the way and the rest following.

I pitched in a game on that baseball field back in the day. Was one of the nicest fields we played on back then. Pretty campus but not as nice as ours, however.

That W&M at Stanford game won't draw more than 20K in actual attendance unless the Cardinal give away 50,000 tickets. Nobody cares about football, or sports in general, at that school, unless they're playing Cal or USC.

Would it ve a good western trip for us to start a season?
