I expect when W&M moves its football to the Patriot League, which I still believe will happen as NIL continues to grow, schedules can be adjusted.
I was at Furman several times this past week while at a family reunion nearby. Wore some Spider gear one day and had some nice conversations with staff while walking around campus. They remember our SoCon days and our many games against them. They did not know we are back on their schedule, that would be a fun trip to make.
Their football stadium is nice, nothing spectacular, but all they need. They have a super soccer complex. They are also keeping the baseball stadium (which is beautiful) in pristine condition, even though they dropped their program right about the time of Covid. One of the maintenance crew told me it's easier to keep it ship-shape then to let it deteriorate, and that most there expect the program will be reinstated in the not-to-distant future.
Furman is a beautiful campus but is very spread out. I think our is nicer, in a large part because it's more compact. The Swamp Rabbit rails-to-trails path goes right on the edge of campus and is a wonderful asset.
We also went to Clemson for a day; my youngest niece went there. Clemson seemed like a great place to party your four years of college away at. They had installed a temporary baseball diamond in the football stadium for an upcoming Savannah Bananas game.
