Pretty ugly first quarter...Spiders down 3–2. Bellarmine goalie making some nice stops, but we're having trouble getting good looks. Bellarmine is sloppy with the ball on offense...lot of turnovers, many unforced. Spiders struggling on faceoffs.

This is a team we should be beating handily...get it together, guys.

Bellarmine's color guy is an entertaining homer. Yelled "no soup for you!" after one stop.

Spiders get things headed in the right direction in the second quarter, winning faceoffs, taking advantage of a couple of man-up opportunities, and generally controlling the game. 8–4 good guys at the half.

Spiders pouring it on now, up 14–5 after three. Connell with 5 goals, Young with 4. Lanchbury with 2 goals and 8 assists.

Spiders cruise through the fourth and get the win 17–5. Just a game after Young tied the program record goals with 6, Connell broke the record with 7.

Spiders broke down the Bellarmine zone in the 2nd half with patience, pinpoint passing and sharp shooting.FOs went to UR in 2nd half which stymied Bellarmine offense flow.Rusboldt’s save average in 2nd half was off the charts.

Ryan Lanchbury (Burlington, Ontario) recorded a Southern Conference record and program-record 12 points while sophomore attack Richie Connell (Evergreen, Colo.) scored a program-record seven goals Saturday as the 19th-ranked University of Richmond men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in the Southern Conference.

Lanchbury finished the game with 12 points, scoring three(3)goals and dishing out nine(9) assists. His 12 points is a new Richmond and Southern Conference single game record, breaking the former league mark of 11 points set in 2015 (Tom Moore, Jacksonville). His 12 points are the most by any player so far this year in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse and tied for 31st most all-time in NCAA men's lacrosse history.

Lanchbury dished out a career-high nine(9) assists, setting a new program and SoCon record as well. The nine(9) assists is tied for 10th most all-time in NCAA men's lacrosse and the most this season in the country. The previous record for a Spider in a single game was five assists while the league record broken was seven (Tom Moore, Jacksonville 2015). Five(5) of his nine(9) assists game on passes to Connell.

Connell set a new single-game program record with seven(7) goals in the victory. The seven(7) goals ties the single-game mark in SoCon history and is the fifth highest total this year in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse. He entered the game with seven goals on the season and doubled his season total with three goals in the first half and four in the second half. Connell's nine points are second all-time in program history, surpassing the previous game-high of eight points held by former Spider Teddy Hatfield (four times).
