As much as I was very excited about being considered part of the conversation a few years ago when the Big East was recreated after we had the one year of the Über A-10 in 2013 (when we were 16 teams), I come back to a question that I have always felt about UR in general, from my time as a student there until today.
Why does UR have such an identity crisis? We always want to be someone else, whether it be the "Harvard of the South" or a basketball team in the Big East. It would be great if our university could continue to build its own identity, somehow, without needing to jump on the coattails of someone else. We have always had marketing/branding problems, both internally (within the faculty/staff/board) and externally (fans/alum).
