Everyone is debating about who has control? Is PQ or Jabba? At this point shouldn't the president or the athletic director have control. We signed a two year extension with Mooney. So now, we need someone to buyout his contract. No one has the money for it. We just keep building nice facilities. Inside these nice facilities we have nothing. 10 years of mediocrity, excuses, telling current alumni we don't care about you. Delay making decisions and achieve nothing in the process. We just want your money thats all? Zero accountability and a lost fan base. This is seriously all we do here. I support the players and know they give it their all. All this talent just went into the trash basically. Just like TJ, Kendall Anthony and many others. Never see a championship.

Queally picked the president. Queally picked the athletic director. Queally builds the buildings. The entire thing rests at his feet. And he has demonstrated that he is happy to embrace being a loser.

This is Queally's play toy. Not just the athletic department, but the entire university. I got the E-mail about the new President right after the crushing defeat today that had his name on it. Way to deflect.

Fwiw, the announcement was set over a week ago before we crapped the bed Friday night, then again Monday night and earned the 11am slot today. If you want to be upset, be disappointed that MBB dropped themselves to an 8 seed and then let Duquesne out game them.

Maybe more like cover for a bad appointment. I Do not know the new President at all, but the best time to announce news that won’t be taken well is while those involved are focused on something else. We’ll see

Why should this news not be taken well? Guy seems pretty good to me.

I don't know a thing about the guy. But I do find the timing of the announcement very odd, especially for something that wasn't expected to be announced for awhile. I hope he's a great guy and supports athletics.

I feel like the whole St. Louis fiasco would never have happened on the Robins/Ukrops watch. That was the beginning of the end of this season for me.
And the sad part is this athletic administration is living off the shoulders of the money the Robins and Ukrops put in. Was it not for the Robins UR would be a small, little known college.

As I mentioned elsewhere, they've been planning this announcement for 10 days. When they planned it, no one thought we would lose to both SLU and SJU and fall to 8th and end up with a first round game and that we would draw the premiere 11am gametime. Sh*% happens, I wouldn't read too much into it, and I certainly wouldn't expect that the university is going to reschedule its presidential announcement around how the basketball team fares in the A10 tournament.

But yes, it happened relatively quickly in terms of stated timing, although it was always anticipated they would hire someone faster than Dr. Crutcher announced, he was just giving them plenty of runway.

Or maybe he will be impressed that we have won as many D1 games this season as Cornell has won since 1/10/2019...

Without The Robins gift in 1969 UR would be a state school or defunct.

Came up on another thread about Duke - at Duke they recognized the value of multiple graduate education opportunities: having a law school, plus a seminary, plus a medical school, plus a graduate business school. We have whiffed on the opportunity for a medical school and a seminary.

Would it include MCV?

Yes. Or at least that was the story I was told. That the papers were drawn up and ready to be signed until Robins stepped in at the last minute. Would have all been University of Richmond as a state enterprise.
