UMASS

Here are some observations from the 5 minutes I got to catch:

The way we ran our offense was beautiful, we just couldn't hit shots which happens every now and then. Our guys were making the extra pass, cutting hard. Stuff we weren't seeing earlier.

Defense was huge. Forced 17 TOs!!

If you told me before the game that we were going to shoot 3-17 from three and win, I would think you were crazy.

On to St. Louis.

32Counter, saw where bradley cooper has signed to play kellogg in the upcomng film to be directed by ron howard. post game interviews has to be the worse thing coaches have to endure, especially after a loss and guess why bob knight just had fun with and ridiculed the questioners all the time.

I think Kellog should be played my Mike McGlone of the "Brothers McMullen" and Geico commercial fame:

Concur with sentiment: A win is a win. Did we have an off night from 3? Yes. Were our foul shots abysmal? Definitely. Did we break through to the top-5, with a chance to steal the 4th spot from VCEwe? Hell yes.

This team is peaking in March, much to my chagrin. Mid-January, pre-lamb STU supper, I thought we would be lucky to finish above .500. A lot has changed since winning at VCU, mostly positive trending (save that loss at GMU).

TA and SDJ are playing the roles they were meant to develop earlier in the season. DT, while laying bricks, has also been great at rebounding at crucial times (re: all game) and swatting buckets. It's a lot easier to get your offensive groove back than it is to spark a defensive fire in your belly. Once he knocks a few shots down, he'll get his confidence back. Look at (our) Trey Davis: Never been a big points producer but he's got the confidence back to knock down open shots and take it to the hoop.

I am getting concerned about K0's legs...he's been missing late-game FTs...not good in late, close games in March. But I know he wants this more than anyone, so he is not going down without a fight!

Go Spiders and Wildcats (tonight only)!

Would love to have a dollar for every college basketball coach that has slick-back hair, ala Pat Riley.

Hope Kendall only playing 29 minutes last night due to foul trouble means he'll come out ready and on fire Sat. And really hoping he won't have to play all of that game and walk-ons can play more than a min or 2.

This will be a concern next week in the tournament. We're basically playing 7 players now as KS hasn't been getting but a few minutes here & there (1 minute last night). It'll be gut check time for the guys...lots of minutes in hopefully 3 games. A bye would be really nice.

Wasn't it St. Joes last year who basically played 5 guys and won the tourney? Dayton would be another team that has a thin bench so if that's the argument, they would be included in the fatigue factor group. Would be nice if it holds true for them as they have already punched their ticket.

so if UR and Dayton end up playing Sunday should both teams agree to walk the ball up the court and no pressing?

Alright fan, I'll go ahead and pick for the week all of the A-10 games (save the UR-UMass game because I feel I have a bias on that one that will skew my pick):

Dayton-Rhody: Dayton
Dayton-LaSalle: Dayton
Davidson-VCU: Davidson
Davidson-Duq: Davidson
VCU-Mason: VCU
Rhody-St Joes: Rhody
Richmond-St Louis: Richmond
GW-Mason: GW
Bonnie-St. Louis: Bonnie
Bonnie-Fordham: Bonnie
LaSalle-St Joes: St. Joes
Duq-Fordham: Fordham
UMass-GW: GW

I need to get 10 out of 13 to beat Mr. Ken Pom's computer. I actually do not like my odds at all.
Boom. 11 out of 13. Ken Pom does alright for a computer.

Haha, nice. Now try to beat the computer over an entire season!

I think I'll quit while I'm ahead. I got lucky, I hope I can do as well in my bracket this year.
