Having fun ragging on my CT in-laws while they were watching Uconn lose to Memphis largely due to Ts. How sad and embarrassing to the University to be so unsportsmanlike! Uconn transfer Apostolos Roumoglou cost us our first game this year. Is Uconn a technical foul factory? Let's make a bold statement and say we'll never accept another Uconn player because they're such thugs.

Hurley is a hot head & I’m ambivalent about UConn but that was a soft af call imo. A bad time to take a T but Hurley has a team & program where he can risk that & benefit his team in future where refs may give him calls in other games. Kind of letting folks know what’s up early in season. Some other teams can’t do that bc the individual game is too important.

Honestly, I don't care how soft the foul, it doesn't give you permission to be a complete ass. Would not be worth even a national championship to have a dick like that running our program.

What about back to back nattys? Sorry sign me up.

Hurley looks bad with his mannerisms & pouting for sure but sometimes dicks on the court who get extremely competitive r much different off it. I’d rather u be a dick within the lines. Coach K cussed out refs all the time.

Hurley, I would give my left nut to have someone like Hurley leading our program. Yeah, Hurley acts a fool on the court for sure, but the dude wins and wins big and that is the name of the game.

I mean our coach would never get an unsportsmanlike technical foul at the end of the game like that

Quick mr. spider check the contract if this is grounds for dismissal. Maybe we found a way to fire for cause!

Curious for the folks who wish they see more fire out of Mooney. What are your thoughts on this technical? I didn’t watch the game because I don’t want to pay for FloSports out of principle but it looks very similar to Hurley’s.

My position is this, while I love the fire out of Mooney and want to see more of that, it has to be controlled. Similar to Glou against Marist, while we likely weren’t going to win the game anyway, the technical hurt us more and pushed the game even further out of reach. I like passion, but not heated to the point where it goes against us in critical moments.

Thanksgiving with the in-laws is going to be tough for u now. I think they win.
It's not like I would even mention our tourny or team this year. Too embarrassing. They'll never know about Mooney's T. I can criticize Hurley without any retribution.

That's what I basically said above. Hurley can get away with it at this stage of season.

From first person accounts it was bad. Mooney was like a caged animal on way out. If we are lucky maybe he attacked a security guard or even better a young ball boy and we can fire him for cause.

Perfect ending. As long as no one was harmed in the process.

Great locker room guy
He has no obligation or benefit from saying any of this IMO. And I believe it to be true independently for sure. My problem is... presumably we should want what they want cause you know.... (2) national championships in two years etc. and I even said when he picked up the tech early in the year..... i'd rather have those type guys and have to throttle them down. But I firmly believe we don't think that here. That's not our culture. And that's a problem. And where we start from is a handicap... and in a lot of cases one thats next to impossible to overcome. Its why, as an example, we could lose by 40+ to a team like VCU.... and one of the main reasons why our record against them (again, just as an example) is what it is.

love to hear he's a great guy. certainly plays hard. he's a guy I want to stay. I'm certain his best ball is ahead of him. he'll shoot better.
I'm not so certain about his shooting as you are. I tried to do some research when he was in Greece but couldn't find hardly any video. I saw a workout video from when he first arrived at uconn and he was not really that impressive. You figure he will get better though after shaking off the rust from 2 years hardly playing. It kind of goes to my thought that guys get better with real game time and knowing they need to perform. That really worries me about Bryson and jrob, practicing in the culture of comfort for a whole year, I don't know. Hopefully Glou is a lot better next season, that would be helpful.

I dunno about more fire out of Mooney. I’d settle for more NCAA appearances and at least parity vs VCU. I know…asking a lot. Oh, I forgot also more adaptability.
