Tribe v UR -3.5 48F kickoff 9mph NW

DT, I will never understand the Durden hire.

Up 6 in the middle of the 3rd with good field position and we play as if we are up multiple TD's late in the4th.

This feels like a game we should be up 24-7 and instead it’s 13-7. We’re keeping it way too close

Did Aaron Dykes get hurt? He was doing really well, and then Smith came in and the running game died.

That off sides penalty was huge. Wide open TE in the end zone. 14-0 lead is gone. Athletics into the dumpster fire again. Nothing changes.

Finally a solid drive, though I would like to see Mancuso get a little tighter with some of his short throws. We should be up a couple TD's right now. Defense is stepping up. Hopefully they can stop this 4th down!!!

Offensive line has looked pretty solid. Play calling, drops, and a few missed passes have hurt the offense today.

However, I would like to see how they do against JMU before passing too much judgement.

Will take the win but a ton to work on. What is the story with the underclassmen QBs on the team? Is there any potential with those guys throwing the ball? Hard to believe Mancuso is the best QB on the team. Yes a few drops today but he did not look good throwing the ball once again.

If this season becomes a preseason (ie if we lose one or two), I’d love to see Jackson Walker - at least see what we have.

Some thoughts on the game. As mentioned, front 7 looked impressive on D. Seems like a group that could win us a lot of games. Unknown on secondary but they are young. Offense is frustrating but some decent runs today. Worried not enough passing to beat the good teams. Special teams needs some work but at least coverage units appeared to be more solid. I like that when we faced adversity that we punched back and won the game. This team seems to have some grit. I realize W&M isn’t a strong program but after watching MBB close out the season, I won’t take wins for granted.

Tribe succeeds on fourth-quarter gamble, but Spiders respond for 21-14 win

Special teams certainly had a few glaring errors however thought the punt and ko coverage was very solid seems like offense went dormant when they were trying some other things and mancuso running didn't seem to be an option
Lots of different players saw meaningful action on the defense
Would say more rusty than sloppy

It wasn't always pretty but you have to give the team some credit finishing off this game. Clutch 4th quarter drive to regain the lead and a 2 point conversion. A defensive stop and the offense grinds out two first downs on running plays to run out the clock. No one has mentioned Settepani did not even dress due to being in a walking boot and Ritten also sat this one out. They will be huge contributors. My biggest takeaway was we have some young DBs that will tackle. Coverage needs to improve but think this group will be better than what we have seen. Very impressed with size and speed of Aamir Hall at corner. Xavier Marshall also was solid and rounds out a nice group of LBs.

Fumbled punt could have really hurt us early, defense bailed us out. Jumping offsides on their fg attempt ended up costing us 4 points. The botched extra point cost us another point. I agree that our kick coverage was much improved but we’ve got to be more disciplined on special teams. It was some rust but those were undisciplined, self inflicted errors. We aren’t good enough on offense to consistently overcome big special teams errors. Need to clean it up...it’s been an issue for years.
