The scary question

I thought Zo turned a corner on offense this year. I was pretty happy with his game from the GW road game on, more or less. Hope that continues in the NIT and next year.

I think the returning players plus Wood will pick up enough slack scoring. I am concerned about who has the stones to step up and take (and make) the big shot in a tight game. Not sure who that is on next year's team. Anthony made a lot of big shots (jumpers, drives. 3's, FTs) when his team needed it.

Certainly agree to disagree, from my perspective (and I was a big Mooney supporter until this year), I think his regime has run its course. I had it on another thread so sorry for repeating myself. I measure this team/program by NCAA appearances, our goal should be to make the tournament at least 50% of the time. In CM's tenure we've only made it 20% of time (2 in 10 years). As far as the A10 conference in 10 years CM has only had 4 winning season in conference (40%--I don't count @ .500 as a winning record). His record in the conference tournament is substandard--7-9 (take out our champ year and its 4-9 with 6 years of 1 and done. Out of the past 10 years we have only won 20 games twice.

There almost none, none of you that said the sked was acceptable this year and we should have cruised through the non-conference portion with the talent we supposedly have. I think a lot of the talent after the NCAA run has been average. It should have been much better with that kind of notoriety. Terry-hit, Shawndre-hit, Kendall-hit, Singleton-miss, Sparrow-miss, Taylor-miss, Davis-miss, ANO-hit. We'll see about the new guys next year.

Also I don't think he makes enough in game adjustments, especially at the end of games. The substitution patterns are maddening, and the time for some players who can't score or even be an offensive threat are extremely confusing. The chemistry is great on all the teams here over the years but I think coach doesn't get into players enough sometimes after they get on runs of boneheaded mistakes and decisions.

Do I think he's a good coach, yes. I liked the regime but I think they've reached their potential. Like the Braves runs or the Buccaneers super bowl, sometimes you need someone else or a jolt to consistently win or take that next step. Those are just my opinions, and I'm not "hating"--I'll root for them just as hard tomorrow and forever how long they play this year. And I'll keep sending in my donations to the Spider Club.

Maybe I'll be wrong and the NCAAs will be there next year, but this was a "weaker" year that we should have gone dancing, apparently with just one extra win it would seem.
