The NIT

First quarter of the NCAA bracket shows how this committee is doing things. Indiana and Texas, two big conference teams with really bad top-50 and top-100 records, are safely in as 10 and 11 seeds. A joke.

First 4 out and one vote to be in over Texas, just so close. Two #1 NIT made the Dance. Where does that move us?

Wow we were one of the last 4 officially, I can't believe we were that close and Gotlieb lobbied for us. Does that make us a #1 seed in the NIT?

Spiders first four out by the Committee.
Plus all of a sudden I like Doug Gottlieb.

We are probably looking at a team like St. Francis NY, Charleston Southern, Bucknell or possibly W&M, or Cal, Clemson, Florida, K-State or Penn State (the last five are NIT bubble teams) in the first round. I don't know if they'd send W&M here again, but we will find out shortly.

Eight, for the first game, give me one of the first 4 you mentioned rather than the second 4!!

Pretty sure I heard that this year the first four out are auto #1 seeds in N.I.T. Home games until NYC!

NIT is a worthy tournament. I've enjoyed reading about a lot of big time basketball programs that are hoping for an NIT bid.

No question, that the NCAA tournament is the goal, that's what you hope to achieve. But, a plus to the NIT, is that we have a team that loses one player, we're a #1 seeded team, I think we have a great chance against anyone who will be in the tournament. This could be great preparation for our guys having a great year, next season.

We need to sell out every game to show the committees our fans will support this -- win or lose, sell out, show K0 and the guys we are there for them!

Any idea if sea son ticket holders get first crack at their current seats? Presuming so...

None of those teams scare me. Bring them all on. We will pick them off and send them packing.

I agree tough bracket. uconn, Miami are two quality teams. They will be in our building though

Too bad from PR standpoint that it is not on ESPN or ESPN2...

Sure the 2nd round will be, though.

Bring them on! Great to get name teams at the RC. If the top seeds win out, we'll get the below home games.

8 St. Francis (NY)
4 UConn
2 Miami (FL)

Old Dominion looks to have an easy bracket. At least no power conference teams.

Don't look too far ahead. Could be some surprises. We probably deserved tougher bracket since we don't even have 20 wins yet.

Our bracket is definetly the hardest. uconn is probably one of the teams I didn't want to see. They have some really athletic players

NIT is about exposure. I'm pleased we got the name teams bracket. More exciting to see Uconn or ASU coming to town than either Illinois State or Green Bay. Let's not look past St. Francis (NY) but I'm excited and hope our guys are up for the challenge!

thx seattle, missed that on the show -- I guess that means we need to keep winning to get the national exposure

Our bracket is challenging but the potential of hosting teams like Uconn and Illinois would be great for our program.

Selfishly, I am happy our bracket is so difficult. Need to take care of business Wednesday, but assuming we do, would love the opportunity to see UCONN and Miami in the RC.
