There are a lot of negative emotions over here in basketball land. You are feeling blue and you are thinking about drinking the kool-aid. Don't.
Instead, join us on the Spider Football Board. Over there, the team is on a 9 game winning streak, we are playing W&M (our JMU friends dubbed them as "Waste Management") this weekend. UR is ahead in the series by one game. This could be the first time EVER that a UR football team has won 10 games in a row in a single season.

UR is in the running for a first round bye in the FCS playoffs. Our string of November wins is breath taking. Everything is bright and cheerful (mostly).

Over there, Mojo Spider will post his Prologue later this week. When he does, you will feel better. The sun will shine, the organs will sound and you will believe the Spiders can once again end the Indians' dumpster fire of a season.

Remember, the Future is Brighter as a Spiders' Football Fan.

ha! thanks for ramping up the expectations...sounds like you're promising fans a lot...didn't someone say earlier in the season that the Prologue's should be patented as good medicine for insomnia!...sometimes I work better under pressure...it's a giant game, a great team of Championship players that have earned everything they've received...defeat the Indians and there could be even better times ahead...I'll do my best!

Go Spiders!

Yes, it will help with insomnia.

If you are down, feel free to visit Spider Football. It is much more cheerful over there. This is a friendly reminder. Although we are still waiting for Mojo to post his thoughts about the upcoming Lehigh game.

Things on the Football board are now too depressing. The world is falling apart, we lost guys to the portal. It looks better over here in Spider basketball land. We have a two game winning streak. Keep up the good work.

I was sad to see Kings BBQ close in Petersburg...
Oh, no.

While at UR a frat brother lost his Dad who was a UR grad. Played school song slowly and softly on the organ at his funeral. Made for a moving impression on my then young mind. Anyway, the grieving spouse sent us frat boys to Kings' at her expense for lunch. (probably didn't want to mix us with the church crowd at the house). :)

Kings' was great in how they welcomed us. Made an impression. Always tried to patronize them when in the area after that experience.

Geez, just proof read this and realized recounting old stories like Tarantula. Miss that guy.

Tarrantula. Two R's. Normal one works with the Spids nickname, but very important distinction & shout out to Coach Tarrant.

Kings sounds like a place I'd have liked to patronize.

And yes, Tarrantula is missed along with some other legendary posters. I think Tarrantula knew more VA history than anyone. Especially southwest VA. Think I only met him once, but i once mailed him an extra Kevin Anderson bobblehead I had. it's amazing what those bobbleheads can do for the soul.

I had the honor to appear before Judge T! I completed my cases before him and then quietly said good to meet you Judge T! He looked over his reading glasses around the court room then looked back at me and said and who are you? I got back to Richmond late in the afternoon and he called me.
Fun guy who loved the Spiders and an honorable man and judge.
