Apparently Tennessee's 5 star QB, Nico Iamaleava is holding out of spring ball, because he wants more NIL money. He is just completing his FRESHMAN YEAR. I saw him play, he wasn't that great.

If Tennessee caves, every player will hold out.

This is the future of college sports.

He was paid 2 million per year, he redshirted the 2023 season for which he was paid $2 million and he started last season, for which he was paid another 2 mil. Cam Coleman was better than he was.

Ok NCAA you have ruined amateur collegiate sports. Let’s go back to scholarships, transfer restrictions
with penalties and set a reasonable stipend limit. Do the right thing for once.

agree Carolina and believe the desire to avoid this chaos led UR to the Patriot League for football.... its restrictions put us much closer to the former almost amateur model which we seem to prefer for football!

Go Spiders!

UT didn’t cave and he’s gone. It’ll be interesting where both parties move on to.

Who would work to develop this kid? He turned his back on more money than he may ever see again. Iamaleava is not that good. He might have some of the tools, but who would help him?

How many times have we seen players, who think they are more important than the program? Even at our level. They need to fix this stupid NIL situation and the stupid portal.

I just became a hugh Vols fan!!

Having a kid there I follow the Vols a little bit. They did the right thing. That said TN was also 1 of the poster childs for this NIL bs with their state legislature making laws to essentially do anything they want.

Agree it fit UR but is anyone in FCS paying players? Maybe some will. spiderstudent17 said he expected CAA football schools to pay 2 million in rev share. Why they would do that idk. Seemed ridiculous. But ridiculous times too. Just curious if there has been much NIL or future rev share deals out there in the FCS market.
