The Biden Doctrine

Trump should hit Mexico with tariffs for the flood of fentynal and the 10 million illegals they pushed across our border. The wall is the least of the expenses they owe us.

While he's at it, he should slap a covid tariff on China to pay for the trillions they caused us.

Then he can slap another tax on China to shore up social security and Medicare.
For a guy who claims to know everything, surely you realize that tariffs are paid by the American consumers and not by the countries importing goods. If you want prices to skyrocket, tariffs as you suggest are a great idea. Tariffs should be used when foreign goods are unfairly competing with US products and not as a punishment for that country, the only ones actually being punished are the American people. And unfortunately, there are some products that we have to import because they are not being made here or are not being made here inexpensively.

Directly under the headline, it reads:

Opinion by Jay Michaelson

He writes for Rolling Stone and The Daily Beast, both reasonable middle of the road outlets. ;)
Yeah, just like the stuff from Fox you guys post. I don't recall Rolling Stone or The Daily Beast paying nearly a billion dollars in damages to Dominion for their consistent lies about the 2020 election, do you? Or have you forgotten about that, just like most of you have forgotten about Jan. 6.

Unfun facts:

According to SSI Trustees, the fund will become insolvent in 2035.

https://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/ssb/v70n3/v70n3p111.html

According to Medicare Board of Trustees, Part A will be depleted in 2033.

https://www.ssa.gov/oact/trsum/ (others extend it to 2036)

These ain't Fox talking points, they are our government's official predictions.

BTW Stephanopoulos and ABC ponying up for defamation. More to come.
George was wrong, he was sloppy and will likely pay. But nowhere close to an intentional lie repeated for weeks.

There was no way this suit would've won a nickel under existing law, not to mention Trump would've been deposed. This is a flat out bribe from Disney Corp, to Trump, like the big gift recently from by Bezos.

Perhaps I am dense, but didn't the suit win under existing law?
I am not going to call you dense. But the lawsuit was settled. It did not even come close to going to trial. No depositions, no courtroom testimony, no witnesses, no jury awarded damages, no judge upheld the damages. Legally no one won or lost, both parties reached an agreement and the case disappeared. No admission of guilt, just cash and a rather tepid "apology."

George S. got lazy and used "rape" instead of "sexually assaulted." Essentially the same act but legally words matter.

In an earlier case involving this subject a judge did rule that Trump had "essentially raped" Carroll. Had this gone to trial, no way would Trump win.

But ABC paid the money, just like Bezos and Zuckerman did with their huge donations to Trump, to curry favor with the next president.

This might be the only time Trump's lawyers actually got paid. Not by him, of course.

Trump has to fix a lot of Biden's mistakes. The worst is Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine has charged a Russian General, and the entire Russian regime, of using chemical weapons 4,800 times against Ukraine since 2022. The Ukrainians have meticulously built a case against the Russians, by documenting incidents, gathering soil samples, and testing soldiers. The Russian's newest favorite tactic is to drop chemical grenades on entrenched positions, via drone.

The unraveling of world stability started with Afghanistan.

At least Biden didn't issue a red line on this Russia's use of chemical weapons, like Obama did in Syria. But Biden has checked out and Harris is incapable.

As an aside, this country's greatest vulnerability to foreign aggression is between administrations.

You think Trump is going to do something to Putin for his chemical attacks? I sure hope you are right but I believe you are in fantasy land. At least Biden called Putin a "killer", while Trump called him a "genius" and "savvy" when he invaded Ukraine. And Trump didn't have the guts to call out Putin even when Russia TV posted nude pictures of Melania. What a profile in courage Trump is. He is real tough when it comes to defenseless people but acts like the draft dodging coward that he is when it comes to Putin.

The WSJ has done an excellent job reporting on the Biden Administration. You always wondered who was calling the shots... These individuals put up walls between Biden and the world. They literally controlled Biden's decision making.

"This account of how the White House functioned with an aging leader at the top of its organizational chart is based on interviews with nearly 50 people, including those who participated in or had direct knowledge of the operations.

To adapt the White House around the needs of a diminished leader, they told visitors to keep meetings focused. Interactions with senior Democratic lawmakers and some cabinet members—including powerful secretaries such as Defense’s Lloyd Austin and Treasury’s Janet Yellen—were infrequent or grew less frequent. Some legislative leaders had a hard time getting the president’s ear at key moments, including ahead of the U.S.’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan.

"Senior advisers were often put into roles that some administration officials and lawmakers thought Biden should occupy, with people such as National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, senior counselor Steve Ricchetti and National Economic Council head Lael Brainard and her predecessor frequently in the position of being go-betweens for the president. ....

Presidents always have gatekeepers. But in Biden’s case, the walls around him were higher and the controls greater, according to Democratic lawmakers, donors and aides who worked for Biden and other administrations. There were limits over who Biden spoke with, limits on what they said to him and limits around the sources of information he consumed.

Throughout his presidency, a small group of aides stuck close to Biden to assist him, especially when traveling or speaking to the public. “They body him to such a high degree,” a person who witnessed it said, adding that the “hand holding” is unlike anything other recent presidents have had."

The online subscription for the WSJ is only $4 per month. Try it. The reporting is the best in the country. Subscriptions for the WSJ have remained strong. For the record, the Journal has been equally critical of Trump, as it has of Biden.

After Trump lost the 2020 election, the news room and the editorial staff were having an argument in print about whether the election was stolen. Both sides called it they way they saw it.

They are doing something right.

Apparently, there are an awful lot of Fox clods out here.... and from the LA Times no less.

Fox was shameless, $900 million shameless on 2020 stolen election coverage, cost their most prominent host, Tucker Carlson, his job, but to me they appear less right than MSNBC is left. CNN has a seemingly perpetual identity crisis so a non factor. Watch all on occasion, but prefer print to broadcast media. If you write a column or create a podcast, you first have to give it some considered thought versus broadcast where just spew out your prejudices bc must think on your feet so tendency is to fall back on your comfortable.

Believe a great deal of our division is directly attributable to the 24 hour "news" networks. Ain't that much news impacting the average Jane and Joe to fill the time so enter opinion shows, often masquerading as hard news to the average viewer. Throwing out chum/red meat to attract a specific audience rather than dispassionately reporting facts.

Our national media leaves a lot to be desired.

He gets it.

Economy grew at 3+ % last quarter. Gas is down below $3.00 out here. Statista is projecting that holiday retail sales will increase by 4.8 percent in 2024 versus 2023.

Biden's economy is crushing it on his way out the door. Fatso will F I U in no time.

Even Joe Biden's friends admitted they were fooled, according to the Nation.

In truth, Biden was surrounded by a bodyguard of liars, a pretorian guard of deceivers who fooled both the president and the American public. This was a massive betrayal of democracy. There is a reason the Constitution has provisions for removing an impaired chief executive (the 25th Amendment).

This body guard of liars extended to the many journalistic allies of the Biden White House. Franklin Foer and Bob Woodward...

March of this year, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said, “Start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth. And [expletive deleted] you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I’ve known him for years.… If it weren’t the truth, I wouldn’t say it.”

The president who has much of his time out of office apparently was not all that keen on meetings with his Cabinet secretaries. In fact, Biden may have met more often with his criminal son’s sketchy clients than he has with his administration’s top managers.

The penultimate Biden Doctrine, Prosecute you and not me.

This is criminal. Biden is terrible. If you commit a murder, Biden lets them off. Defend this.

Biden commutes sentences of 37 federal death row inmates in final month of presidency

President Biden is commuting the sentences of nearly all the inmates on federal death row, a move that comes not even two weeks after he went through with the "largest single-day grant of clemency" in American history, the White House announced Monday.

Of the 40 inmates on federal death row, according to DeathPenaltyInfo.org, Biden is commuting 37 men sentenced to death, reclassifying their sentences to life without the possibility of parole.
