Texas AD fired

this guy has been on the radar forever down here. he has ticked off big, really big, donors, coaches, fans. it was just a matter of time for this to happen. story on him most every week on sports radio and they were not glowing stories, really scratch your head type of stories. this school thinks, probably rightly so, that they should dominate, rule, football what being one of the richest institutions in the country in a state with great high school football talent and yet several state schools have surpassed them in recruiting and on field performance. they, the rich alums, rich fans, will not put up with it and him being clueless on how to handle people made this easy. word is down here that the horns had saban but ad patterson killed the deal from the standpoint of saban not willing to work with him or being turned off by him. feel smart is OK, no worries there but strong better get his act together and fast or he will be shown the door, football is king, basketball is maybe a security officer, in the pecking order.

Same guy who told Rick Barnes that either his assistants go or he goes, can see why he wasn't respected.

I fail to see how this is UR basketball related, seems like another thread regarding our rivals:) Just kidding. Shaka should be fine, he was just hired, he hasn't had time to screw up yet, plus he is one of the hottest names in college basketball. And if Patterson did indeed kill a deal to hire Saban and instead hired Charlie Strong, he should have been fired a long time ago.

just to be clear, patterson did not intentionally stop the saban deal, just that his personality and style killed the deal, if one believes those rumors. he has done enough damage without the saban situation to lose his job and should have been gone even sooner. ok state has boone pickens, texas has a number of people in the same zip code financially who love longhorn sports and he really messed up with them and that would be enough to show him the door.

Strong and Smart are good hires. " Even a broken clock is right twice a day."
No, he was just plain stupid the way he treated the "money folks."
Let's go back to Spider Ball.

Don't cry for me Argentina. Some people create an environment in order to be let go.Patterson has a guaranteed contract through August 2019 that pays at least $1.4 million per year.
