St Francis (NY)

They played 1 Top 100 team. I watched them play a little against Robert Morris the other night. I suspect they will struggle with our length and unconventional style on D.

According to Kenpom

Best win: #170 Columbia
Really Bad Losses: #262 Army, #219 Rutgers, #246 Delaware St., #224 Mt. Saint Marry's, #238 Bryant

Remember guys, 5 weeks ago we all agreed we could lose to anybody!!! I wouldn't take any team for granted. We play well we should win.

I never agreed to that...

Fan. You don't have to agree, but it was a fact. Lol. JMU, NE, WF...... They did a wonderful job turning it around and playing much better. Looking forward to Wednesday.

looking at their highlight film I think they will have trouble with our defense. The one kid seems to be able to shoot the 3, need to get out on him.

I know, I know.. They're actually a college, not a University. New York is funny about what they label Universities, so there are a ton of colleges that would be called a University anywhere else (Marist College, Canisius College, Iona College).

JMU, NE, and Wake are so much better than these guys. They are from a small conference, small gym, we should easily beat them. Not their fault, just a small program

26, oh yes, no doubt we should win, but we can't mail it in and need to be really sharp for UCONN!!!

They are also 14th in the nation in rebounding. 8th in rebounds per possession, right behind UNC & UK. Hopefully that is because of their schedule and how often they miss.

We need to be serious about this one. This team lost to Bryant just a couple of weeks ago. We will see just how good a coach Chris Mooney is.

over confidence has killed many programs -- we need to play hard put them away and let our subs get some meaningful minutes. That will only help them get ready for next year, and latter this year if needed. They are small so they must crash the boards and get a lot of stick backs

Fans can be cocky about games, players and coaches I'm sure are not. The comparison about the CBI a few years ago is a bit moot because it was the frickin CBI. Inconsequential games against inconsequential opposition.

We don't blow teams out, but I predict a healthy Spider victory on Wednesday, probably 10-15 points. I think this team has something to prove.

St. Francis is not a terrible team. This will be a tough game for us, if we don't take care of the ball. I watched the Robert Morris vs. St. Francis final and based on what I saw - St. Francis plays very physical pressure defense - similar to VCU. Good news is that we tend to play well against VCU, so I think we should handle St. Francis pressure just fine. And considering that St. Francis really only has one good outside shooter from what I saw against Robert Morris - and I assume our defense will confuse them and force them to take outside shots, we should be just fine as long as we rebound.

Similar to VCU - don't turn the ball over and don't get killed on the glass. We will win by 15.

This team and fan base could use a little overconfidence now and again. Let's know and acknowledge that we are the better team and play and cheer like it.

Agree we should absolutely advance, but am also old enough to remember 1998 1-AA Playoffs. Spiders were a juggernaut - winners of 9 straight, led by Marc Megna, Winston October & Jasper Pendergrass. Ended up losing to Patriot (non-scholarship) Champ Lehigh 24-23...

i do like the ST FU coach, they did beat miami at miami to open last season. little teams that could can ruin your day, we sure did it a lot in the past.
