The view from the pregame looked scarce. Glad it’s not as bad as it looked!
Cayo has been much improved so far.
Defense not looking too good on the drive, BUT, as predicted by me - Spiders blow out STFU - and 23, 4700 and sman will go on the attack. Only concern is they are getting the straight line drive off the dribble way too often, luckily throwing up bad shots after.
Didn't get to watch the first game, but the offense looks pretty good in the first half of this second game. Cayo looks much improved offensively.
Watching the game, even with a double digit lead, it doesn't feel safe. Feels like it could evaporate at any time.

Positives:
- Cayo playing very well and to his strengths
- Grant in iso play has yet to be stopped
- balances scoring
Need to improve:
- we telegraph our passes on offense which has led to couple of steals
- need to close out on 3’s. That got better in the 2nd part of the first half
- Better help defense in the paint/low post

Well, we look like a different team since we aren't playing the powerhouse that is Longwood.

Good to see us taking advantage of size difference and getting the ball to the rim. Inside out offense. Defense still not very good. We need to rotate better and close out on 3 point shooters, they have missed open 3s. Game not over, but so fat this is what A10 teams should do to NEC teams.
Nice effort by the team. The defense sagged and kept them from attacking. St Francis was confused by the collapsed zone/man. Team looked confident on offense and played smart. Got the ball to Golden in the right spots and Cayo looked great slashing to the basket. Gilyard running the show with confidence is important since he is the coach on the floor. Good win and gives the players a positive vibe.
Glad to see us bounce back. Great overall effort by the guys in a game we should have dominated. Need to see this kind of performance from big 3, Wojcik, and Cayo with stronger competition. IUPUI is a better team than St. Francis coming in on Friday. Will be nice to head into Florida up 2-1. Stronger teams won't miss those open look shots.
I love Julius and think he still has something to offer, but there is no question now that we are a better team with his role continuing to diminish.
we're such a different team when Nick plays like that. great variety to his offensive game. very efficient.
Grant and Jacob were awesome.
through 2 games, Nathan looks better than even the most positive guys here could have predicted.
Woj really filled the stat sheet with 8 boards, 5 assists and 5 steals, and we haven't even seen his real shooting ability yet.
JJ played well. great back door pass. did they explain the T? I had the volume off. don't know how swinging for the block gets you a T when you get the ball. yes it was a foul with the body, but a good tough play.
Grace handles well and has a nice stroke. important that he can give Grant a break. I know someone here questioned him playing outside, but that's where he'll be most effective.
still don't have a read on Yates.
nice that we could clear the bench getting Sal, Bryce, Andre and Keith a few minutes.
great shooting, scoring performance. we protected the ball too. only 9 turnovers is really good, and that team did look to get steals.
defense was pretty good too. switching up top made ball screens ineffective. we did leave the corner open too often. SFU hit some tough shots.

The foul on Julius was a flagrant 1 I believe. I was at the RC and they didn’t show a reply, so not sure why. Seemed like a hard foul with the body to me and Julius got the ball
Is there a reason Andre hasn’t gotten more playing time? Don’t expect him to be a game changer on the court but he can certainly give some solid minutes out there

Valid points. Only difference is JJ is a senior and Andre is playing in only his 2nd career college game. We need to have 7-8 solid contributors. Only 8 bench points today and 3 of those were from Sal in the final minute of the game. Andre doesn’t need to score double figures but I’d like to see Mooney give him more in game opportunities. I think Andre has potentially more upside than Grace or Yates at this point.
Just my own opinion, but Bryce & Andre both take risks as a ball handler. Mooney won’t play either more minutes until that changes. Particularly with Andre, I think it will as he adjust to D1 from Euro...
There is clearly a reason why Andre isn't playing much. If you read some of the other threads you will see the explanation.
Watching the play live, JJ's foul looked like going for the ball and good hard foul. Using the slow down replay his follow through hit the guy in the head pretty good. Kind of like the nba now, everytime they go to replay if you touch a guy in the head it is a flagrant.
the new folks, Grace, Wojick, etc appeared to have good jump shots, nice arch and rotation (admittedly that is based a lot on warm ups) Grant's on the other hand looks worse (I still wonder if that is weight training because he certainly is bigger.) Athletically we may struggle with A10 teams that are our size and more athletic.
I actually thought we were playing the same St. Francis we play in football...fool that I am. St. Francis Brooklyn? They take 30 3's a game, against BC they hit forty percent. Good skills just small.
(now St. Francis Pa has a schedule UCLA, Tech, UNC, Mt. St. Mary, etc, that would have been a good win)
I am still in the camp of here we go again...constant promise for the future........... that doesn't seem to come.
got to remember to bring my ear plugs for the elementary school games.

Didn't get to watch game, but great result beating this type team in such a easy fashion. Let's continue it by beating IUPUI in a similar fashion before going up against L-Chicago.
Haven't seen Woj play a minute yet, but 8 boards, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Seems to have JJ's energy but is even more productive. Give Mooney credit for starting him right from the get go.
old drum probably beaten to death.. but O rebounds of the 6 we had I think at least three ended up in baskets. One JJ was the only spider going after the ball he tipped it out and we got and hit a three. Send at least one guy to the boards on O
Wojcik plays like he's been there....very seasoned as a freshman
I didnt catch any of the game since I'm a "businessman" and I had some meetings but the box score looks pretty impressive. Nice job by the guys to rebound from Friday.
