Delo's foot injury - Out through early March

This is notable - I got a question through on Behind the Web about GW3. Mooney said he’s been great on the scout team and in practices recently and has earned playing time in our next game. Let’s see if he follows through with it.

Respect the effort. was Mooney asked anything by Philly Bob about the Dusan debacle/sub rules? Probably hard to get that in after an Eagles playoff game.

If I am GW3 - do I even want to play this year, couldn't he theoretically sit out and get this year as a redshirt? At this point - he played more at Michigan last year.
I don't think redshirt for not playing much is possible in basketball - just a medical redshirt would be possible if he was hurt.

Yeah he can't redshirt he's already played. Nor does a med redshirt apply either. Maybe Trap is thinking of new football redshirt rules. I expect basketball to adopt something similar eventually but there's nothing in effect now.

Everything is leading up to perpetual eligibility anyway...

Agree on the perpetual eligibility. I mean they are already talking about expanding it to 5 years. But in reality - the rules have always been, athletes need to be treated the same as students. Well - there is nothing against a student going to school for 9 years and getting 3-4 undergrad majors and a masters or PHD on top of that. So - why couldn't an athlete, one who may not be good enough for the pros or doesn't want to go play overseas, just keep taking classes at their college, keeping collecting NIL money, and keep playing for 6-7-8 years? If the school and coach are okay with it, and they can't get anyone younger who is better - why shouldn't they be allowed to do it?

Surprised this has not been brought up in a case yet.

Was it Dominaus who played 3 minutes in a season instead of redshirting?

Edit: Oops! 1 minutes second game November 2015, against Stetson…

Dominaus might be the worst Mooney recruit of all time. Basically had no D-1 offers, Mooney took him off a recommendation from the Ohio State coach, clearly was not anywhere close to a D-1 basketball player. Transferred after to West Virginia State after 1 year. Ahh, the gold ole days.
