perhaps the "unsung hero" of this season's remarkable turnaround...
he reminds me of many UR players over the years that began their careers with potential, but through hard work and perseverance became starters and important contributors as their careers progressed...
this year Cayo became consistent and reliable...he was a scorer (8.9 PPG), rebounder (5.3 RPG) and defender...he started 30 games and was our most accurate shooter at 55.6%...he's savvy too...knows his limitations...he didn't attempt a three pointer the entire season!
and what can you say about his improvement at the foul line?...79.8% made for the season...he was clutch...ha! I'm a believer that good foul shooting is contagious...maybe Cayo's improvement infected the team?
If you're interested in the highlight clips you'll enjoy some of Nathan's favorite moves around the basket...moves that got better as the season progressed...one move that left the commentator on the Duquesne broadcast speechless!
His willingness to take it to the rim for either a bucket, or a foul, often took pressure off of our outside game, or stopped a scoring drought...and I almost forgot the joy of watching him snatch a tough rebound...aside from Burton he looks like he wants a board the most!
Cayo's solid contributions played a significant role in this great season and I have no reason to doubt he'll play an important role in our post season success.
Go Cayo!
Go Spiders!
