Mo, looking at that list, are we now officially a bottom feeder? This is worse than sad, it's pathetic.

If VCU was anybody other than VCU, I would have to admire what they have done. No wonder UR is an afterthought in this city.

LOL. And I was on board with saying LaSalle and Fordham with their below par teams and facilities maybe should be asked to leave the A10. I bet you Depaul would still be on board with us joining the BEast.

Don't forget LaSalle made a sweet 16 run a couple years ago, so that might bump them above us on the list of league bottom feeders.

Awhile back, there was a listing of A10 basketball teams by program budget. Does anyone have it handy?

That's a pretty striking display.

A 7 year view would look quite a bit better for UR, but that doesn't make me feel any better about today.

Apparently VCU had a simulcast of their game at the Siegel Center. It had enough people going to it to stop traffic on Broad, even during Spring Break. We'll never have that unless we get rid of Mooney.

Much obliged. Remember that time we made 2 A10 finals in a row?

Barely. We've had 2 kids, seen the reelection of Obama and the rise of Donald Trump since then.

The comparison of these results to program spending is the most depressing evidence of our program decline that I've seen.

Wow. Those numbers really show how well supported the Program is by the University. It makes the results the past five years even more unacceptable. It also shows that the head coaching job at the University of Richmond is a fantastic job. I said it in another thread, but everything is in place for UR to be a serious contender EVERY year in the A10. We have the best arena in the A10, good crowds especially during conference play that will only get better with a winning team, offer the coach a great salary, and the Program is very well supported financially. what else could you ask for as a coach?

B, all correct and ........... Great kids! OSC

When you recruit at the Northern Kentucky (Diekvoss) Fairfield, Tennessee Tech level( Ford), etc, etc, etc. this is the result. I have repeatedly said that our sales team cannot effectively sell our product. As the old saying goes you can claim to have the world's best dog food but, if the dogs won't eat it, then you are in trouble. As far as our expenditures are concerned, it is quite obvious that in many aspects of overall University operations, the administration has more money than it has common sense.

I guess you could ask for lower admission standards but I don't think that's a significant problem.

That's a pretty striking display.

A 7 year view would look better but I think (a) 5 years is a pretty good sample size and (b) if you moved it back out to an 11 or 12 year view, it would look nearly as crappy.

The results against our peers when you bring investment into the picture, are downright pathetic.

+1. The problem extends far beyond the basketball office.

I suppose you could try it at 8 years? Or 12? Multiple classes through "the system"?

In all fairness, I don't believe all schools report numbers the same way.

Perhaps not but if you were just going by "the eye test", I think anybody can see we have nice stuff. The numbers validate the eye test, in my mind.

Comparison I draw looking at this is JMU football, doing less with more.

Dayton goes down to St. Joe's..... Hampton made the tournament winning the MEAC. ODU is in a dogfight with MTSU (VCU's signature non-conf win) for the C-USA crown.
