K0 has been a great player at Richmond. Thanks for all that you gave to our university and our basketball program. Moreover, thanks for being the person you are, a winner in all that you do; you WILL be successful in future endeavors.

So, what about the guard position for the Spiders? IMHO, we are loaded and will be better as a team over the next few years. Look at the statistics. K0 over four years averaged 6.51 shots for every assist. Shawndre has averaged only 4.13 shots for each assist. This past season Shawndre took only 3.44 shots for each assist. K0 really is a shooting guard in a point guard's body. Shwandre is a natural point guard that makes his teammates better. When K0 was in high school, he was "the man" on his team. Shawndre was assisting guys like Kelly Oubre (a McDonald's All American now a star at Kansas) and Cameron Ridley (also a McDonald's All American and now a star for Texas). Point guard is Shawndre's natural position and assisting is what he does. K0 was always a scorer. Our point guard position will be much improved. In addition, Khwan Fore and Kadeem Smithen are true combo guards that both scored and assisted others on their high school teams. Josh Jones was a shooting guard who scored a lot of points. Now, Julius Johnson another combo guard and a great scorer will be coming in the fall. Simply put, the guard position is in great shape and should be a strength over the next few years; a "comforting answer" to a "scary question".

No question we will have the talent. The question is how will Mooney use them?

Good question. I've got a good idea that all you have to do is look at this year's distribution of minutes & substitution patterns. That would be a pretty good starting point because adaptability and flexibility haven't been definitions of CM.

Not being a smart A or anything, but what do you need to get an assist? You need to pass the ball to someone who scores. Who has KO had to pass the ball to other than Brothers that could shoot? The last two years a pass to DT, ANO, TD, JjJ was a dead end. KO was forced to shoot rather than make a pass to a masonry major. We will have another year of that next year as the scoring pressure will fall on SDJ unless many of DT and TD's minutes are taken by someone who can score. Many of SDJ assists were to KO!!!!

All really good points. I believe CM to be an intelligent man. I have heard him say Manny times that you must learn from games played, won or lost, and move on. I hope he practices what he preaches.

Couple of players left out that have pretty good offensive skills you left out we have not seen are Diekvoss and Marshall Wood.
There may be more fire power for assists to be had. KO will be huge loss but also there may be less dependency on his scoring
load. What we may miss more is his quickness and ball handling which helped the other players.

Carolina, who do you see taking over the leadership role next year. SDJ, TJ, TA?

K0 has been fun to watch these past four seasons, and a great Spider. I hope he goes out with a bang these final games.

It may take us a few games to find our footing, but I expect us to be much better next season. Our defense will be suffocating, from perimeter to paint, and I think the light will turn on in regards to late game execution. Offense may struggle at times, especially early in the season, but kinda like CM's first UR NCAA run, we'll win some big games with defense.

I agree with Ulla. SDJ really pushes pace well and can finish around the rim. I see SDJ as an all league type player next year. As for the other guards, well we dont really know. I think JJ has his role. We will need KF, KS, and Julius to make significant contributions. Kwan has the look of an A10 guard. KS needs to hit the weight room hard this offseason. Hopefully Julius has the strength and learns the defense so that he is ready to play significant mins. next year. One plus is that our height and length with all those guys will be vastly improved. Also, the strength of next years team should be TJ, TA, and MW on the block. That should alleviate some of the pressure on the guards.
